Once Omicron truly takes over, I can't see many, if any, teams escaping this

On the plus side, hopefully it burns itself out quickly and the chaos - not just in football but in every other area - is short-lived
I heard on Radio 2 last week that each time the Spanish 'flu virus of 1918/19 mutated, it became more infectious, but less deadly, and that’s what it looks like is possibly happening with CoViD too.

Let’s hope that is the case.

People are still trotting out the conspiracy bullshit? Can one of those nut jobs explain how this helps them and how its more beneficial to be forced to cram in a minimum of 2 games into a schedule that has virtually zero gaps already?

Every game that doesn't get played is a much more taxing game to play before the summer and damages them.
Right, I'm going to give it a go.... the rags would have lost these 2 games so denying them 4th spot. If the league is cancelled and a 'pools panel' have to decide who won/lost, they will give the rags 2 x wins.

I am joking by the way.

And I thought you was a clairvoyant for a moment then

The big difference is how the media and the wider football world treated two cases a year apart. Everyone in the media and of a redshirt persuasion lost their collective minds when our game against Everton was postponed, openly accusing us of cheating and running scared. Neville wanting us to forfeit the Carabao semi.
And thats before you even mention Everton’s official statement.
Meanwhile, these lot get an identical outbreak and the media report it like the death of Diana

They won't. They'll be awarded the three points by default.
there is a dependency here. If awarding them three points puts them above Tottenham then I think they will choose to award the points to the scum whilst holding Spurs responsible for their postponement hence the award will go to Everton.... I mean, it makes sense doesn't it?

Everton are so shite they’ll just deduct three points from Spursy

This is what the experts understand 'should' happen. Resulting it becoming just another Flu Mark II ! but nobody knows when it will reach that stage.

I’ve been trying to think how it helps them but can’t come up with anything other the fact it doesn’t help them.

If there is a lot of teams who can not can’t fulfil there fixtures it could go to a tribunal where they will say Brighton v rags that’s a rag win and do that with all games that are not fulfilled if we just can’t fulfill all league fixtures.
