I think it is safe to assume we would be prepared yo pay Haaland more than kdb, for the profile and goal scorer that he is.

I also partly don't think we may need to, or certainly not much more. But if we did, I would bet on that not being an/the issue.

I got accused of having blue tinted glasses on when I suggested that Haaland, on purely football terms has no better place to go than City and I stand by that . Every other big club would have to buy him, and then buy players to put around him to get the best out of him . Barca and Madrid can't afford to do that, nor can Bayern.Go to the scum? Don't make me laugh ! They will have to get rid of a lot of deadwood and rebuild before they have a squad that would even get close to Haalands ability and expectations. PSG yep they have the money to afford him of course, but it's still the farmers league and Haalands better than that, and he knows it . We have a squad of world class talent that needs a world class striker to take the squad to a whole new dimension of football.
I sometimes despair of some of our fans small time thinking, we are top dogs in world football now, the red teams and the media might not like it or report it but it's true .

French League is bit weird, PSG mostly reign there in the past decade. But for a single period of time, there will be one club that building their squad right that can challenge even the star studded PSG in Ligue 1. Beat them to win the league and making it far as Semi Final in Champions League. After all of that incredible season they will straight plummeted into worse the very next season because talent poaching.

French League will be something if they can keep their best talent in there, but i heard because heavy tax they can't keep all of their talent. The exception is PSG ofc.

I think he means in terms of PSG being usually the only contender to win their league (despite losing it last year)

I know a lot of this thread is about the size and possibility of a transfer but beyond that there are other possible issues. The two that concern me are how he changes to suit us and vice versa and the future possible injury issues. Players of that size and style of play will subject their body to a battering over the years.

There isn’t a significant change from how we play to suit him, especially considering the physicality demands. The team sort of is just waiting for a center forward if you observe it. As for the other point, you can just look at players like Ibrahimovic (who is actually slightly higher than Haaland and at 40 is playing for the second place of a top European league) or Cristiano Ronaldo who is someone Haaland mirrors and whose body is comparable too. One thing that isn’t talked about much in this thread is how smart he is on the pitch at escaping impact from the other teams’ players and imposing himself. Reminds me a bit of Diego Costa in that regard

As a league it is rather uninspiring though even if they produce the odd good club side and a decent national team.

How many of the French National Team play in France? How many “home grown” players on the perennial Ligue Un winning team?

If there was a JOINT Premier League - Ligue Un division, how do you think the final standing gs would shake out?

What would you call it then as "farmers league" doesn't sit comfortably with you ? Because whatever you want to call it, it's not a very competitive league for a top class footballer to be in . Neymar just picks up his huge paycheck and visits his sister , Mbappe has seen the error of his ways and wants out, but at least he is a very rich young man now. Messi didn't want to go there but it's the furrow he has to plough at the age of 34 because it was the only field that had a gate left open to him . So what shall we call the Farmers league in future then ?

I'm pretty sure there are not 3, 4 or 5 competitive teams for all competitions in Germany. Try again. Maybe, with Juventus no longer dominating, the Italian league is more competitive, but with your reasoning, perhaps we should call La LIga a 'farmer's league' too?

There are always strong teams such as Dortmund, Leipzig, Wolfsburg, Leverkusen, Mainz etc, every season it changes though Dortmund is consistently up there with Bayern. What I am trying to say is that it’s not like Bayern is the only good team. And the amount of good times in the Bundesliga is season after season outweighing the number in Ligue 1. You can call La Liga Farmer’s League, but in terms of number of contenders to win the competition it’s not very different from the PL
