Bagpipes - yes or no?

I am not a Scot and have no links to Scotland - though there is a lot of Trish in the family history but I love them and I love a pipe band. I do know however that they are very Marmite - so for Bluemooners is it a yea or a nay?

Anyone with Trish in the family history may have had their musical sensibility damaged. Perhaps that is why the natural revultion towards such a terrible noise has been dulled

Older versions of bagpipes are far more melodious.

I‘m not sure how the current Scottish version became the main choice.
