I think this will actually end up happening in the next couple of years. The efl will combine the league Cup and the auto windowscreen shield or whatever it's called nowadays.
I'd sooner see it being an U23 cup for PL or maybe even all teams.

“Smith grew up a die-hard United fan, but Orzabal converted much later. He supported his local club Portsmouth as a young boy before he moved to Bath as a teenager and met his bandmate, drifting away from the sport until the late 1990s.”

Lawro has not one but two Raggies in the form of Tears for Fears on his predictor bench. See above YCNMIU.
Curt Smith was born in Bath.
Typical Rags then

I think curt Smith has spelt his first name wrong...

Further down is this:

Curt's prediction: There are a lot of Manchester City fans in LA but that is down to the publicity that they have had in the past couple of years. So, when I say 'City fans', I mean people wearing City shirts. There are still more United fans here, I am happy to say. 4-1

Clearly missing the irony of why he (and so many other nonMancs) supported United in the 1st place - because they were pushed in the public eye constantly and people latch onto publicity/success to bask in the reflected glory.

A higher proportion of the current younger generation is ('randomly') supporting City, in the same way as happened at the start of the PL for United.

We'll pile up.the points and await their pile up, you'll hear them moaning then. Leeds will only be stronger by the time they play them and will be desperate for points, just need them to pick up the odd injury in the semi final games and we know from experience they are fucked once you get beneath the first eleven. I fucking love hearing klopp talking about us all the time!

The rags haven't played for a few weeks and Sir Fish Fingers hasnt fed anyone so they have not been in the news as much as they would like.
Cue the new (old) story, they are meeting with 5 developer's and will choose one from them to get plans to redevelop the swamp.
BUT now they are going to build a new stadium alongside the swamp for the women's team. Wow I am so excited.

Yeah I read that too.
Like you said typical glory hunting plastic prick.
Just like their other Red shirted arse cheek, deluded, self-entitled and totally lacking in self-awareness.
This wasn't in the brochure when he jumped on the Rag bandwagon.

2 cup competitions 92 professional clubs, the most unique football pyramid in world football. The most watched league in the world in the premier league, the rest of Europe is jealous of this, instead of trashing it in press conferences he should be embracing it.

St Fish fingers replacing Noel Edmonds for the BBC Christmas day show where he gives out presents to deserving people.

The first hour will be the delivery of a vat of red wine to a pensioner from Govan with a tribute to his contribution to society.

Silly Sally will then appear really flustered to interview a poverty stricken family who need financial help. They will then be given rag shorts with Gashy on the back along with the offer of a matchday ticket to the swamp. Which will make their hearts jump with glee.
