Brentford (A) - Post-Match Thread

It could well be.

And will (ok, should! :-) ) always be decided by where the furthest edge of any line is - regardless of how thick the line is.

If thin lines are used, then each need to be positioned so it indicates the very furthest 'active' point of each player.
It's where the leading edges are which is the critical thing.
I don't think it should be decided by the furthest edge of a line as it's impossible for an attacker to know if they are onside by a gap as marginal as 1cm. If they knew that it was the width of a ball, or something like 20 to 30cm, then they could play to that.

Bernie slipping back in to quiet mode recently, maybe he needs a break. Jesus and Grealish need to start offering a lot more
I always think Bernardo goes quiet when KDB is in the side, I don't know why that is but everytime KDB is out longterm Bernardo steps up and completely runs the show. It's a slightly deeper role Bernardo operates when KDB plays.

Shambolic? Really?
Well Grealish was non existent. Even Barnardo was quiet although thats understandable on the occassion hes entitled. Ferna for me is showing his age at times. GJ contributed nothing. Some very sloppy hospital passes generally. Obv delighted with the 3 pts but we were fortunate they never nicked one cos I couldnt see a second from us.

Same with Gundogan. The Rodri, Bernardo, Gundogan trio just works so well. When KDB replaces one, the CM is rarely as good. THat's why I prefer KDB as false 9.

Never in doubt, although against diving cheating cunts of dippers proportions plus the customary bent ref.

Our portu-geese lads in urgent need of a break, couple of unsuspected brainfarts almost got us punished.

Three more points in the bag, Golazo by KdB-Foden, ground out result, that'll do.

They parked the bus well, plenty of teams have done it before, but their only tactic when they had the ball for 90 minutes was hoof it and go down to get a free kick.
They did topple over quite a lot, ref fell for it too.

Job done
It was never going to be a classic as it was a game in the middle of an exceptionally busy fixture schedule
Brentford were hit hard with first team players out, so they were never going to come at us blood and thunder and we were in conservation of energy mode
My main concern was that as we were so in control we may switch off as we did vs Newcastle a couple of seasons ago, but we remained steadfast and solid till the end
We move on to what will be a far more entertaining match on Saturday
It's going to be an interesting selection now, with Sterling, Gundogan and Mahrez completely rested and ready to come back
Can Fernandinho play three games in a week?
Will Foden get the nod as he's always a goal threat and was our best player tonight

This period is about getting the points. We were largely shit but it doesn't matter 3 points in the bag and a crucial 3 at that. had to capitalise on the others dropping points and did so. That dishearten the chasing pack so much. Beat arsenal and we get a double figures lead over 1 if not both challengers. Magic.

Cannot understand why Pep didn't make any subs though especially when there were many that could easily have been subbed off. Really bizarre of him.
Re. subs yes I agree and he complains there are too many matches....just dont get where he is coming from?????

Bollocks, I disagree with that. The Amazon commentary with the fantastic Ally McCoist is one of the best around. Knocks ten types of shite out of Sky and BT commentators.

Not once in the game did they mention the financial situation, constantly praised recognised the skill of City on many occasions, called out the dodgy offside lines,

It was only the useless Gabby Yorath who brought it up (trained well be Sky and the Beeb) and you could see DeJong visibly rolling his eyes as she did.
Some one with such connections to Leeds should keep quiet about football finance.
Its all about how the money is spent.
McCoist made a pleasant changes from the usual crew. Probably bins any scripts he is given to recite.

Yeah we've seen how good that midfield trio is and it's an excellent balance to it. Gundogan is the one that arrives late in the box making runs beyond the front three normally. As we've seen tonight with KDB the ball he played into Foden for the goal is something Gundogan and Bernardo can't offer so they all have their strengths and its about making them click. I agree with you though I love KDB in the false 9.
