Question is, how far do you go with security?

I have a set of brothers who own a successful chain of DIY shops. You will have shopped with them.
Being billionaires, people robbing their houses is the least of their worries.

Your whole family becomes a target.....including your children.

So daily life is security sweeping the grounds before you leave. A convey of vehicles following you around, some in front some behind.
I can tell well beforehand when they are back. The gates open and a security team sweeps the grounds.
The convoy returns, and a car is left behind the gates.

Speaking with one of the wives revealed she hates it all. They are from a humble background. So never expected the life they now have to live.
They are literally living in a gilded cage.

On the flip side, i used to have a customer who employed ex Gurkhas for security.
They were deployed all around the property 24/7.

We had a site-note come down that if anything happened, we were not to interact and just try and leave. (WTF?)

Turns out he was a crook who married another crooks daughter, so was protected. If her father died, all bets were off what happened to him.

Safe to say i swerved that job afterwards!
(this is fairly recently in case anybody thinks i'm talking decades ago etc)

It will most likely be charged as robbery, not aggravated burglary, and if convicted after a trial I reckon they’ll get at least 12 years: in the home, targeting the victim, significant planning, actual use of violence, child present, group activity.

The notion that they’ll get a suspended sentence is comical. Anyone who actually thinks that is an idiot.

Edit: just looked at the sentencing guidelines - it’s been a while tbf -starting point of 13 years for higher culpability and greater harm robbery in the home (higher than highest category for aggravated burglary, hence the charge), with a sentencing range of 10-16 years, so I’m going to revisit my estimate and say they’ll get 15 years after a trial.

We’ve been burgled and it’s a horrible feeling. Good to hear that they are all ok.

Clearly a strong character and maybe he’s thinking that to keep focussed on the game they have been preparing for would be preferable than being away from the squad with nothing else to think about.
 
I love cancelo my son says he’s such a naturally gifted player as in both feet and is comfortable on either foot hugely underrated could possibly step in for kdb if needed..
