I think Azpilecueta made no attempt to jump for the ball, wasn’t looking at the ball, was looking at the man and decided not to jump to stop Mane from reaching the header.

Mane had his eyes on the ball at every point in the incident, didn’t even side eye to see where Azpilecueta was. Mane jumped up and sideways to body check Azpilecueta in mid air, but because Azpilecueta didn’t jump there was contact with the head with the palm of his hand.

Mane then immediately pulled his arm away when he felt the contact.

Yellow card all day. Reckless, never dangerous play.

i never understand both styles of chelsea and liverpool kick and rush ? chelsea ok are not as full on as liverpool
but every time i watch liverpool they come out flying like they all been on the billy wizz and then its wears off and you fancy beating them. manchester city and pep style is cool and they work you to death in chasing ball

you can not play hit and rush football and last a long hard season because it will catch up with you
i can under why both chelsea and liverpool have won the champions because they are more a cup team

Not how I see it but a decent explanation either way, how many players do you see jump using one arm for leverage? He knew what he was doing (similar to a keeper leading with a knee) but as you say CA never got up with him, so he caught him in the face, doesn’t matter if it’s elbow/forearm that’s a red
