Sterlins 27 now and done amazin for us ,no doubt about it ,yess ups and downs ,but stats are unreal, but its common knowlage that he wants too try it abroad in his career, hes said it himself in interviews many times, with some of the big dogs in spain probly not as flush as normal at mom, thats the move i can see happenin with his contract runnin down, but lets see what happens, whatever happens weve had a great return on the 50 mill paid for him, unlike some other 50 mill players
Signs a new 4 year deal he can still get a move to Spain at 29 he knows this

He's back to his best now imo. KDB's game dipped and all our players have had a lot of football.
He's nowhere near what he was in 2017-18. I agree the system has changed but he has a long way to go to get back to that form.

gotta be a business decision because theres no way in hell hes worth 300k+ a week
great pace and yes hes back to his best which lets be honest isnt that good
look i love the lad and im willing him every game and cheer when he scores
gets in great spaces etc but if we relied on just his goals and not the rest of the teams
contribution where would we be?
i know ill get pelters for this but raz wont get any better than he is right now and if people think thats worth north of 300k per week then fair dos i guess

Excellent news if true

either he gets back to his best, or at the very worst he doesn’t fuck off on a free

win win for City

Astonishing that a player who has shown the “form” that he has in the past few seasons would be offered a new contract. If true…..a very lucky boy.
Frustratingly awful @ £300,000 a week most of the time.
I’m ready for the Raz Army to attack me…
Would be astonishing to let a player who has contributed the goals and assists that he has, and that has won the medals that he has, and that cost us 50 million, leave for free

It would be criminal to let him go on a free so a new deal is a must. He doesn’t deserve any more than what he’s currently on for me though. His form has improved massively and hopefully he’s back to his best, was extremely poor though last season. Win win though, we keep a player and hopefully they get back fully to where they was or we get a fee.

Fairly simple, he’s an asset that has worth to the club. Do we let him go and lose a potential huge sum or do we try to keep one of our best performers over the period he has been here?

I know I shouldn’t be, but I am staggered at some of the comments on here. After the years of contribution he has made to our success just seems odd.

A section of City fans have regularly needed a scapegoat down through the years. Remember the abuse Richard Edghill got? Why should now be any different?

I'm in two minds about Sterling, and it's fair to say that he splits opinion more than any other City player.

Not dissimilar to Rashford he seems to enjoy these little purple patches before missing an open goal and then drifting into self pity,

Personally I'd rather have Mahrez, Foden, Bernardo or Grealish on the wings as they don't lose the ball in daft positions, and leave us exposed to counter attacks.
However, that doesn't mean that I think we should sell Sterling. On the contrary he provides an option for certain situations, and that's how you win the PL

I’d rather have Bernardo and in a year or so at least one of Grealish and Foden in the middle. Plus we still aren’t sure whar Bernardo wants to do. So keeping Sterling helps us as he can play either side.
If he went he’d be harder to replace than many think.
