City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

It's all fake news - we don't earn anything at all from broadcast revenues, prize money etc. It all comes directly from the Sheikh's pocket, everyone knows that. Get with the programme!
No, it comes directly from Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, so the Grauniad say.

Profits stem from revenue. As a football club owner you can plough it back into the football club, or you can take the money. This news illustrates the relative benefits of re-investing revenue back into your business vs hoarding it in the bank, or creaming off the surplus.

You're right of course, ultimately what matters is success on the pitch. Our success stems from the takeover and we are now a self-sustaining football club run in exactly the same manner as Man Utd were under Gill and Ferguson where massive commercial and broadcasting revenue underwrite success on the pitch.

If there are questionable owners wrecking football clubs, I think we know who they are.
Well our turnover is massive and our profits are tiny, who cares, we win lots of silver pots and have the worlds best players and manager.

Do you get cups for turnover?

Turnover in all businesses is a dick measuring ego trip, profit is king and success on the pitch is all that is important.
Profit most certainly isn’t king in football. And turnover allows for consistent high spending, which when combined with good governance, is actually king.

Simply not true and the same for any business.

We are in a very fortunate position where the majority owner is not involved with us for profit but to substantially increase his investment long term, as long as we are self financing all is good.

We are in a unique and fortunate position, Roman at Chelsea has put fortunes into the club, but as loans and IF he sells he would probably want those loans repaying in full.

Kpmg being our auditor and City having confirmed the figures (and releasing them publicly in the next week) - and United’s being already publicly available says it IS a story
BDO are our auditors these days actually. But apart from that, you're right. The accounts will have been ready for a while so KPMG will have been given the information by City. And united's have been out for a while. They reported their turnover as £494m (the KPMG figures are in euros).
