City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Good to see those speculative reports earlier this week were not quite right, does wonders for their credibility.

We're profitable, we make money sustainably, and we are successful. Oh also, we are not the highest wage bill in our league.

Which would be an interesting question, how many teams will win their leagues to his year without having the largest wage budget?

But will rival fans and the media see this and correct their narrative? Nope, far too much work! Who would be the bad guy then? The Americans sponsored by gun runners but who have an obsessive fan base who can generate more clicks per minute?

Thank you Sheikh Mansour, Khaldoon, Ferran, Txixi and all the players and staff. One thing to have money, totally another to invest it successfully in a long term, industry changing strategy and then make it happen by rolling up your sleeves and doing the work each and every day.

I didn't scout it mate. It was the main headline on the Daily United football website

My limited IQ still can't grasp what the 'Noisy Neighbours' tag and a picture of Sir Piss Can has got to do with City making £644mill and overtaking United's revenue for the 1st time?

On a positive note. I hope you read and enjoyed the KPMG article/report I also posted? It's just that you never mentioned it, you miserbale b......!(joking) ;-)
The relevance is that these figures prove him totally and utterly WRONG.

@Prestwich_Blue Isn’t the FFP allowable loss £30 million over a 3 year period?

Does this mean we have to make a much bigger profit for this season or are there COVID based allowances which will mean we will be ok?

New rule to be brought in that clubs are allowed one exception in a ten year reporting period. So all the other clubs will get a pass but as this will be City's second infraction we will get a fine of £2billion, a 40pt deduction and be stripped of all trophies since the 1st infraction.

If anyone hasn't seen the KPMG report, click on the link below. It's all there.

It's taken 14 years, but it's finally happened. :-)

  • Manchester City FC have been the only champions to could register not only annual growth in total operating revenues, but surpass their total income of the last pre-COVID season of 2018/19 as well. Their total income of EUR 644m, the highest among the champions, is ten times more than that of Turkey’s Beşiktaş JK or Portugal’s Sporting CP. Furthermore, they have also been able to leapfrog city rivals Manchester United FC (who saw EUR 557m) for the first time.

Whilst I’m sure I’ll get a abuse for this and it is unbelievable what the owners have done.

We have in recent history competed with United on boardcasting and commercial.

Where we struggle to compete is the match day revenue aspect, so with that basically removed for all clubs I would expect us to be above them (especially given the success in CL of both teams that season).

Whilst it makes great reading, a true measurement for me would be next season when matchday is back and I believe United will move back in front.

Regardless of this our owners run business on a level I would struggle to understand, United’s would struggle running a corner shop successfully. This can be seen clearly on the pitch and that’s where it really matters!!
