My old rig is circa 2012 or so. Moore's law is dead - and remarkably my system has held up quite well over the ages.
But it is long-in-the tooth and recently I spent a huge amount of time planning my new system.
I decided to go for a water-cooled system for the aesthetics. I like white cases and components so I decided to purchase white components wherever possible. And I decided to go mostly top-of-the-line since I don't plan on building another system for a decade or so.
Anyhow, this is what I eventually went with:
Case: Lian Li Dynamic XL -

CPU: Intel Core i9-12900K -

Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z690 FORMULA -

Graphics Card: ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3090 24G White -

RAM: - 2x Trident Z5 RGB DDR5‑6000 MHz CL 36 2x16 metalic silver rgb -

SSDs:

1 2GB for the OS
1 4GB for fast access to applications
I have a lot of network-attached storage so I'll probably just go with the above
Power supply: Corsair Axi Series AX1600i -

Massive overkill - probably 1000 watts suffice. But I was put off by numerous posts against multiple vendors about the lack of quality in their power supplies. I decided to go with Corsair's top-of-the-line - hopefully this will withstand years of use.
Water blocks - various EKWB components
Radiators - Corsair 360mm
Fans - Corsair QL Series x9
=======================================
Most of my components have arrived and I'll begin putting together the system in about a week.
I'm planning on using Bitspower 16mm OD - brass! - white tubing to connect the water-cooled components along with white Bitspower fittings.
I'll post later on once the build is complete.
