I get your frustration, but wielding some sort of royal prerogative like that probably just takes UK plc even further down the road of anarchy. I do like to think she'll use her weekly tea and biscuits meeting with him to strongly recommend that he gives it up as a bad job though.

I wouldn’t say that’s true (in bold), at all. Most of her life hasn’t exactly clocking and and out, but she’s done a lot of work in her life considering she hasn’t needed to.

She trained as a mechanic and worked in the Women’s Service during WW2. And her work in creating the Commonwealth is a bigger thing than most (all?) of our Prime Ministers have ever achieved.

And she’s worked well past retirement age.

Im not sure it will happen, but it would be a considerably strong statement with which I think many (most) Brits would agree.

That said, she has been a wonderful Monarch, who has rarely ever caused a ripple of anger or consternation about her actions. Sadly, the same cannot be said about her husband, children and hangers on. Only makes her service stand out even more, and for that I am a grateful admirer.
