Spurs (H) - Post-Match Thread

Well what can you say..... ''Typical City'.
The absence of a striker horribly exposed by a true striker .(regardless of whether we should have signed him or someone else).
Terrible defending against pace and strength.
Pass, pass, pass etc etc before endlessly pumping an aimless ball over the head of a 5'6" target.
The most disappointing part is that its set in stone we are one dimensional ,it works or it fails...

We’re too good to not win it, call that arrogance whatever, we’ve had an off day. Wouldn’t be City if we did otherwise.

I agree but from pretty much being touted Champions at Christmas to dippers having it in their own hands is huge. Remember no one has ever not gone on to win it when in our position at Christmas.. imagine how the dippers players feel now.. proper smell blood. We have made it very, very difficult for ourselves.

There were some miraculous recoveries from what I thought might be life altering injuries today.

Incredible to see Kane rise up from a broken back to head home the winner.

That said, it was terrible to see us play into their hands and it does seem to be a recurring pattern whenever we play them.

No matter the manager, they have Kane drop deep and either make untracked runs or ping balls to Son who then either scores or assists.

All the simps saying they didnt want Kane. Well thats what having a goal scorer brings to your team. We dont have one, and yes, we score more goals than anyone, but games like that bite you on the arse big time without that striker

Technically, it could be. Beat us and likely they'd be level on points and with a better GD. That means it's in their hands.
I don't think it's the correct use of the phrase. If they were level and had a game in hand that didn't include a game against City, then they could say that.

As it stands, the correct term would be "It's now in both teams hands". It's being a bit oversensitive to complain about that though IMO. It's hardly as bad as saying "Liverpool are joint top of the league" when they are behind on goal difference as they always seem to do.

Three goals conceded to that shite, barely anything created, doesn't bode well for when we play Liverpool.

You can lose any game but that was atrocious and our own fault.
But liverpool won't have eleven men behind the ball for 80 minutes of the game. Still in our hands.

Stones and Dias has been our best CB pairing. I am a massive Laporte fan in think he's outstanding but Stones and Dias is the way forward it's the pairing that won us a league title along with getting us to a Champions League Final.
Dias sometimes looks bang average when he's playing alongside Laporte, He's a different player playing alongside Stones.
I’m huge laporte fan and backed him but those two are like sunday league.
Stones is vocal and commanding and holds the line much better. He is very comfortable on the ball as well.

Back 4 awful but tonight shows if Rodders isn’t at it we are vulnerable. CF and back up cm required. Foden been gash since he became Grealish wingman. The hyperbole around kane was laughable

The dippers are still the same side we comfortably out played at Anfield this season. We’re still points clear at the top. Both us and Liverpool will drop more points before the end of the season.

This was a tough game after an away trip in the Champions league, but we’re still favourites and we’ll still win it.

I don’t think it is. They’ve got the momentum now, I can’t see them dropping points in the coming weeks and we’ve got United to come who we always struggle against at home.

The only positive to take from this is Pep and the team will be hurting after this, time to up our game.

Wank day.

Played against 10 defenders (anti-football)

Couldn't break them down.

Hit us on the break.

Shite, piss poor defending defending.

Pumping clueless high balls in to Silva, Foden and Raheem.

Maybe could have had another sub earlier.

Just a bad day.

Cmon City, Everton for the taking.
It’s the clueless high balls which were driving me mad. Delap is 6 foot 3. He should have definitely been brought on.

Based on the past couple of months I think Rubén’s form has shaded. Maybe his turn to be the third man for a spell. Both him and Laporte were poor today though.
