It's frustration but yes some do go a bit over the top. If players had done their jobs we would have been alright. So n and Kane are quality, especially if given the space we gave them.

Yes we didn’t play that well today and got beat, however the dippers won’t win every game either so we are still in pole position, hopefully that’s the kick up the arse we needed, beat them at our place and it’s as you were.

Will also add this type of game exactly highlights to me why we will not win the champions league under pep. There is a clear way of exploiting city, 5 at the back with quick counter attacking. Most teams don’t have the quality to fully implement this tactic as they don’t posses the quality of players to pass through our press but as we begin to play better sides they will punish us for our gung ho approach.

That was a hard watch. Spurs proving themselves once again to be our bogey team. Lots of individual poor performances tonight. Teams who pack their defence and then are quick to press for the ball do well against City - 5 at the back made it easy for them to slow/stop City's attacking threat, such as it was. We seem to be happy to play an unattractive brand of ponderous, frankly boring lateral/reverse pass-based football, with the aim of trying (mostly unsuccessfully) to cut back or cross from the byline. When Foden, Bernie and the other false 9s aren't on song and we don't have a natural striker to aim at, this is clearly a poor tactic. It's also frankly dull to watch - we seem to be boring sides into submission when we win, but when the opposition get it right, we look like we are going to lose. Spurs' flowing, open-spaced attacks showed up City's long standing issues defensively. Spurs played well, City didn't.

All that said, this is football - shit happens, you lose games and other teams will drop points too. I'd still rather be in our position than Liverpool's.

Why are pep or the players not allowed to be criticised when performance isn't good?

Theres a weird element to our fan base that buries the head in the sand.

Pep nor the team are perfect, they nearly are. But it's fair criticism.

Cancelo goes through periods when he is fantastic then has a spell where he is a bit meh...happened last season, hence he disappeared at the end of the season and didn't play in the CL Final, and it's happening again now...that was a truly shit show from him today, lazy tracking back and making the wrong decisions going forward.

Today is very simple. Our players played awful. Bernardo and Rodri had their worst match of the season. Cancelo Días and Laporte seemed like amateurs defensiveply. Foden was missing…

And Spurs were brilliant individually. Romero and Dier were fantastic, their wing backs were strong defensively. Son, as usual did everything right against us. Kane was a monster, made every decision the best one. And even Kukusevski made some great crosses every time he had the chance.

Their players simply played brilliant and ours did not

For God’s sake Pep use your bench and start Stonsey. It was crying out for a physical presence like Delap at 2-1, beyond frustrating to watch.

Making changes has never been Pep's strong points.

Brilliant manager, but no-one is perfect and his in-game tactical management is pretty average at best (aka crap) IMO.

To say we won the league during to adapting well to Covid what the fuvk does that even mean, Evwey team in the league had a level playing field due to Covid. Every team in the league gets injuries too. To say we won the league because Van Dijk was injured bloody hell. Didn't we win it ahead of Liverpool when he was in their team in 18/19?? Did they only win the league in 19/20 because we had loads of injuries and had to play Rodri and Ferny at CB?

We simply cannot cope with teams who sit back and hit us on the break. Leicester do it, rags do it, dippers do it and spuds do it.
We are usually so far forward that if they break our lines then we are in trouble every single time.
The first goal was brilliant, Son does that to us every fucking game. Kane turned into David Siva in the 6-1 with his defence splitting passes. we had all the possession but did Loris have anything to do?
A decent performance from Anthony Taylor; disallowed one of theirs and gave us a penalty, my only query about him was all the shoving in the box. Why give a yellow for that, why not let it play out and give a penalty to us or a free kick to them.

Taylor and the assistant missed the offside, and the handball.

Get two wrong calls corrected by VAR and we still lose.
