Interestingly enough he made more tackles and interceptions than any other City player.

He's really, really, good for us defensively high up. But once it comes down to being a regular fullback at the back he can be inconsistent. He does a lot of good defending in those areas too, but he makes the odd weird decision (or three).

Idk which goal is more frustrating to watch back.. the second where he just lets kane run in behind laporte or the third where he lets kulu on to the only foot he knows how to use and have all day to pick out a cross to Kane. Dreadful.

Do we lose some attacking potency with Zinchenko? maybe, but I still feel FAR safer with him back there than Cancelo.

Pre-match I was one of a very small number that wanted zinchenko in for cancelo today, felt his tendency to give the ball away in dangerous positions and his attacking intent would cost us with nobody mobile enough in midfield to cover him from counters, and that proved the case. I don't blame really blame cancelo, he played the game Pep asked him to, his game makes it virtually impossible not to give it away at some point it's peps fault for not giving their counter threat more respect and getting the steadier zinchenko in instead. Cancelo was one of our best threats and whilst he was caught out, he's largely done his job today.

Along with Sterling was our best player in the 1st half. Didn’t cover himself in glory for the 2nd or 3rd goals but then neither did Walker. It’s the same as always on here though, Walker gets a pass as “one of his brain-fart games”. Cancelo who has been unreal all season gets torn to shreds and is a terrible defender.

Great as an attacker but he can't defend at all.

Never tracks runners and doesn't stop crosses.

Since we're rarely under pressure like Spurs did today then his lack of defensive skills don't get highlighted.

Wants a fucking slap for the complete lack of effort on that last cross they scored from. Didnt even attempt to make any kind of block.

also, his shooting is pretty shit for the amount of shots he has. Still unplayable most of the time going forward though.

He played more like a left winger today and was caught out of position , i think Dias playing on the left is vital he covers for Cancelo much better than Laporte who can be done for pace , maybe revert to Stones /Dias partnership and Cancelo forays upfield will not cost us as much.

Another Kolarov.

Beautiful passer of the ball, but can't defend.
This is utter bollocks. He can defend very well. He's shown that against some of the best attackers in the world and all whilst playing on the wrong side. He gets caught out because he's very invovled in our attacking play. Unless you have walkers freakish pace that's unavoidable for somebody who is asked to spend more time as high up the pitch as our attackers than with our other defenders. You can sit him alongside the back 4 or tucked in like zinchenko and he wouldn't be exploited but you lose too much. the lack of cover for him is the issue. Rodri is incapable of providing it as he isn't mobile enough, so it's usually Bernardo, but he wasn't that deep today.

Laporte is faster than Dias. Laporte has shown good recovery pace plenty of times, Dias gets left for dead in a foot race if he's out of position, first goal shows that.

Not got a stopwatch so will have let others judge that , Son had a three yard star on Dias and the only player catching him would have been Walker , but when Stones is on the right and Dias on the left i believe Dias is more effective when Cancelo vacates the left back position , not a criticism of Laporte all three are excellent , and Ake is improving with every game he plays. Todays defensive performance was dire from all four players.

Had a fantastic season, quite obvious his main strengths lie in attack and creating, defensively like Walker yesterday he was poor. Not saying he can't defend, but the positives massively outweigh the negatives.

Poor game. Been brilliant this season. Massive overreacting going on here which is of no surprise whatsoever.
