He has just threatened to obliterate the world if anyone interferes, so we will sit back, condem the invasion but do little else but offer aid and more sanctions.

Unfortunately Ukraine has only 2 options atm
Fight to the end and see tens of thousands die
Or offer pece, the present government step down and a belarusian style puppet one takes over, ensuring independence but puppet rule and fielty

Whatever options NATO and their allies choose to make from now will be bad ones. There’s no good outcome from this. Sit back and Ukraine is no more. Decide to help Ukraine and it’s World War Three. Putins masked has fully slipped, hitler reborn.
 
Ukraine totally betrayed by the West - complete failure of diplomacy. That utterly pathetic “barrage” of sanctions rolled out by our apology for a PM earlier this week just served to show the government’s priorities - hedge funds and high finance over European security. Rolling out further sanctions now is utterly pointless. Putin is exploiting an absence of leadership in the West.

A lot of talk about how the West needs to do more and rightly so. But China could hold the key here, they need to step up and cut off Russia which would be a game changer.

They won't do that if Russia are able to annex Ukraine the Chinese have claim to numerous territories themselves.
 
Time for Boris and other western states to stop waving their Poundland plastic sanctions and actually impose some real ones.

The U.S. has telegraphed what was happening DAY BY DAY, and Macron et al kept talking and talking, but Putin wasn’t spending a fortune on moving 150,000 troops and heavy armor into battle ready positions for fun!

Biden gave away intelligence that surprised people with its clarity and specificity. We sent our Sec of State across Europe to tell the story and even try to “reward” Putin with a summit if the meeting with Lavrov was successful.

They had NO INTENTION of having those meetings, because Putin’s timeline was set:

- Olympics over
- Putin honors fallen troops
- Invade Ukraine

Putin has stressed TWICE in two days that Russia is a nuclear power as a warning to the U.S. and NATO.

Whether that is a threat he will follow through on, I don’t want to speculate.

“People” think Putin is a global statesman. He isn’t. He is a KGB THUG who now literally thinks he owns Central Asia, has given the wink and the nod to China [and fuck knows what’s going to happen with Taiwan while the world focuses on Ukraine :-( ], and he fears no one.

THE WEST HAS ALLOWED THIS TO HAPPEN BY WASHING HIS MONEY AND MAKING HIM THE RICHEST MAN IN THE WORLD AND ABLE TO BUY ALMOST ANYONE…INCLUDING THE LAST PRESIDENT OF THE USA!

World Cup? Yes, sir!
Olympics? But, of course!
Champions League? Our pleasure!

Ye reap what ye sow, and we have sown disaster!
