Russian invasion of Ukraine

Anyone know of any decent websites to understand what's actually going on militarily?

I realize a lot of what is going on is secret or unknown but there must be more detail out there. The normal news outlets don't actually provide any sort of detail.

I'd like to know more about the battle for the Antonov Airport just north of Kiev. The one the Russians nabbed in the early hours this morning via paratroopers and gunships. I'd thought by now that the Ukrainians would have recaptured it as it seems like a jump too far for the Russians as it's quite a way from the borders and near the capital.
Arrogance in the extreme to think that they could have held it. Coked-up bunch of wankers.

Got 30 mins into that, very interesting points made(may finish watching it another time). Especially the Cuban missile crisis comparison. Makes me also think of Saudi reacting crazily to what Iran was doing and the reluctance of some to accept Iran's part in it. It's not always a justification for the actions taken but it does show you the reasons/cause of the response.

Reading on Twitter... yeah that's all I've found.

It's basically saying that after the initial raid the Ukrainians have prevented anymore Russians landing there. But it's still unclear if the airport is back under Ukrainian control or not.

As a show of support to Ukraine and our own Oleksandr Zinchenko, how about we shine a light on the 11th minute at games from now until the end of the season? It would be a great visual display of our recognition of what he must be going through. His national Ukraine number is 17, so this would give people a six minute window to make this happen.

Very good watch, thank you for sharing.

I agree with many of his points, but there is one glaring omission, & it is that of the wishes of the Ukrainian people. The majority there wish to be a democratic sovereign nation, free of Russian influence, with greater appreciation of the Western political system & culture. Who can blame them after what they’ve endured under the Russian Empire and then USSR?

Talk of them joining NATO is a mute point because of their ongoing separatist battle in the Far East of the country, it nullifies Putin’s reasoning for invasion. Were the West shortsighted & stupid in shitting on Russia doorstep in the run up to the annexation of the Crimea? Absolutely. However, it doesn’t negate the fact that Ukraine was never joining the EU or NATO after it happened for exactly the reasons stated in the video, ie the West knew Putin was serious on NATO expansion to his back yard. So what is Putin’s real end game here, I think it’s about having the former territories of the USSR firmly under his sphere of influence.

Blatantly assassinating Russia's leader in this political climate with a lot of the Russian army already deployed seems to me like a really dumb idea.
Send in the bin dipping vermin fans and the Merseyside police and nobody will see anything!

There’s only another 15 minutes, should definitely watch the rest. Complete agree on justification/cause too.

Oh, it said an hour on the timeline. Will definitely do that then.

Edit: Question(what's our no-go zone?) removed. I remember a few times our forces have been on high alert, due to Russian activity in the North Sea and the English Channel. It seems to have happened numerous times in the past few years.

Biden going for a second term also just don’t thing he is up to it I know age wise it’s how you feel but he looks ready for the old folks home now.

Lol, did you get that version of events off RT?

Maybe start with a murderous regime, a sham of a referendum - that is internationally rejected - but it’s ok in your head because Russia had agreements it could “lease” Crimea for their Black Sea fleet (remind me to never rent a house to you) yet an internationally recognised election result never existed.

You’re either a WUM, Russian bot or a fool.
Can't he be all three?

Some 1,702 people in 53 Russian cities have been detailed - at least 940 of those in Moscow.

Hundreds of people posted online condemning Moscow's aggressive actions.
