I'm willing to look foolish come Monday, but I'm confident that meeting in Moscow isn't going to happen.
 
China is more the key to this than anything nato can do in the short term I think. The change in tone today is promising.

Easy to say sat on the internet, if it was your children being conscripted and sent with threats of reprisals if they refuse maybe not so easy to be so brave.

He's Russian, the second world war should have shown people that he won't care how many bodies he throws at it. I wonder if the ordinary Joes over there would consider another revolution?

Trouble is if he is seriously ill then he may see reclaiming Ukraine as his legacy and he won’t care at what cost to his country.

im no war expert far from it,but maybe he's taken more on than he can chew, so at some point they are going to occupy and get picked off by snipers,booby traps etc the list is endless and all those high rise flats lining the streets will become rat runs for the Ukraine solders that remain,a war that is endless and not winable,one thing for sure many Russians are going to die,i think Mr Putin has under estimated the Ukraines on a grand scale

Not saying I’d be on the front line. I wouldn’t be.

But I hope that every one of the twats who put that uniform on and stepped over that border never makes it back.

This is what I think too.

I reckon he expected to just roll into town and be welcomed with open arms. That’s how much of a deluded psychopath he is.

As it happens, Ukrainians are hard as fuck and twice as brave.

Why? Do you think it was their decision to put the uniform on, or to invade Ukraine,or they can just refuse with no consequences. They aren’t the ones responsible for this.

It's a nice idea, but Russia didn't seem to struggle keeping Ukraine in tow during the cold war/USSR.

im quite sure thts the case as it stands and without any doubt he would light the nuclear fuse without any hesitation,like you say at what cost,he's not concerned of the cost,Russia will be a broken economy if the sanctions do as there designed,that alone is enough as they/he has nothing to loose
 
I havnt read the previous posts & dont usually dabble in this sort of thread because I have no idea whats going on but I cant help wondering what would happen if someone managed to kill putin?
Who would be next in charge, would it make things worse?

He has nothing to lose. They do, I’ve have no idea of the strength of any opposition, or even of those close to him that have ambitions of taking his place. I think the best hope is he isn’t as strong internally as he believes he is. I have no idea if thats the case or not.
