Russian invasion of Ukraine

Elaborate please?
The sanctions are obviously designed to force a regime change. Putin yet again threatens with his nuclear arsenal and the west responds with even more public announcements of sending lethal weapons and aid to Ukraine.

The tone has shifted , we are taking the **** Putin on imo, but trying to do it in the safest way possible

(or at least "safe" in the form of not escalating in to a full-blown millitary battle from the NATO-side)

Thanks.

I get all jittery when the mention of calling bluffs when it comes to those types of weapons.

One president sits across the room from his generals, the other one sits with his people. True leader.

If he does decide to leave Ukraine, I’m sure there will be job going in Downing St soon enough once the bog brush gets his bags packed for him.

I agree, it is a really scary time for all of us. But he has to be stopped anyway and in the unlikely event that he is both insane enough and no one around him has the sense to take away his power we certainly need a intervention.

For what its worth I think its a good thing that he still comes out with stuff like "our nukes are better than yours" type of bullshit. It shows that he is aware that engaging nuclear warfare is going to be catastrophic for everyone involved(and obviously those not involved)

It's scary but the russians have threatened with nukes since before they got invented. The threats is as part of their playbook as sweeper-keepers are a part of Pep's.

Apologies in advance about being depressing but given the likes of North Korea, Iran, and probably other authoritarian countries will develop nuclear weapons in the near future, it’s actually only a matter of time before one of these leaders fires their nuclear arsenal on another country isn’t it.

This video purports to show Russian police arresting some Russian protesters and some of those protestors resisting and fighting back. I have no idea if it's now or even Russia, I'm taking it at face value. My question is; how are there so many press photographers?!?!

It isn't beyond the realms of possibility, but you have to take into account how stupid and short-sighted it is to engage in nuclear-warfare and the fact that most people want to live.

Production of nuclear weapons is largely defensively-minded. One country with nukes is terrifying, 2 opposing countries is a bit safer. If every super-power got one the idea is that they all keep themselves in line. Not to mention, to continually grow and be a super-power you need co-operation between countries. Even if you could nuke a country without getting nuked back it's really to no ones benefit

North Korea already does.

Skynews ran that footage earlier so I believe it is real. It's a fucking disaster for Putin, wonder what the rouble will be trading at tomorrow.

The oxygen of publicity.
So, Russia's media is controlled but not to the degree many in the West think. They actually do still have contrasting views in the media etc, but it is controlled to a decent degree. But allowing press freedom like this at this time is an odd sight.

People in Russia now need to realise that the outcome of world war 3 means they all get sacrificed as well as the rest of the planet. A few thousand in Russia may survive in bunkers but that’s it. Putin has over played his hand here and needs to be removed from the inside as he now has zero credibility for invading a sovereign state and then threatening nukes on the west which haven’t fired a single shot in this war.
