Not just European but US politics as well, and had he simply continued in the same vein he probably would have eventually succeeded in breaking apart NATO, the US and the EU following the election of more populists and the return of Trump. He’s probably done more to re-unite the western alliance than anyone else could possibly have achieved.
We just have to hope that sensible people in Russia get rid of him sooner rather than later and the world really could become a better place. Probably wishful thinking.

Exactly, just because there's hundreds of thousands of them doesn't mean they're a crack force. I bet the Ukrainians are far more savvy with a lot less firepower at their disposal. If you have the Klitschko brothers and Osyk on your side, you can't go far wrong

Some of them long for the days of the USSR and would see it here today.

Same, and at so many levels, he expected his army to take Kyiv by Thursday night, currently there's little sign of that happening, as military invasions go its a disaster.

When it properly gets into the City itself (if they risk it) it will be a bloodbath for the russians, with the army able to organise their defence street by street, tower block to tower block, with the russians at street level getting picked off by RPG etc.

Yes they'll bomb the blocks, but having been there, they won't be able to flatten them all, and the coverage will quickly become another disaster for putin.

Army generals are not stupid, there will come a time, where they will turn on him, and I'm sure their are plenty of others who wouldn't mind a go at being leader.
