He has written off the loans. How does this work for FFP??

Could another club not do the same. Or are the loan repayments going to the Charity Fund?
It’s a farce - he will have effectively invested 1.5 billion into the club. Which is exactly what we were accused of doing when we got slung out of Europe

Surely that debt he’s writing off will still be on books and become payable to the FA as a football debt. No fucking way can it be that easy to circumvent FFP surely? Uefa can’t be that shit incompetent or corrupt can they?
Easy way to find out. Let’s get the Sheikh to loan us 1.5 billion then decide he doesn’t want it back. Sure UEFA will be sound with it

A debt to the FA why ? It’s his money his debt coming from His money he spent on the club in the way he wanted on the things he wanted for things of Chelsea not for the FA or anyone else what’s a football debt ?

I'm I missing something here ?
He said he doesn't want the 1.5 bil in loans back and any net funds go to the conflict
He bought Chelsea for 140mil and if he gets around 3 bil is he seriously giving up 2.8 billion ?
I understand it to mean he wants whatever he can get for the club and will write the debt off for that to make it more attractive but will only give the money over 1.5 billion and perhaps also the original buying price to Charity He won’t get 1.5 so he won’t give to charity

Football debts are classed as priority like transfer fees owed as example. Chelsea have profited from 1.5bn in loans over his 17 years now going to be written off, do you not think that’s an ffp breach way in excess of influenced sponsorship?

He didn’t say which victims he will donate too. So he will probably give 2.8 billion to Russia

The reports just said 'profits' and didn't go into how that would be calculated, which if I was a journalist would be the first thing I would have wanted to ask to make sense of what I was being told. However what you suggest seems like the most likely scenario.

He will sell to whoever can give him the cash quickly . The Prem will look the other way when the fit and proper question crops up over a new owner as well . Only two things matter in this situation, RA gets fast cash and is then gone, and the Prem have nothing to derail the gravy train for them .

It’s likely by the time he sells the government would seize the money anyway.

They won’t seize money so publicly going to charity to help Ukraine.

He’s paying to put himself on the right side of history by donating 3Bn he’d never get to keep

Same way he claimed to be part of the peace talks process but wasn’t spotted in any of the videos with the massive delegations from both sides.

If I had to guess he’s probably playing a long game and hoping with the positive press this generates he can get some breathing room to return to London in a few years when this all settles down - he’s not been able to live in london for the last few years due to government crackdowns on the origin of oligarchs money.

All this after single handedly taking down the Super League as well. What a guy!

The debts will come from past losses so they will already have been accounted for they are not football debt to other clubs they are a debt to him
