Russian invasion of Ukraine

Putin is absolutely winning the proxy war imo - lots of people in other countries are all turning on each other over this.

I'm seeing a narrative starting to form more and more online that the west are over stepping the mark due to previous wrong doings and colonialism.

Watch this space, as this conflict is going to start getting spicy.
Even if the west has been 'over stepping the mark due to previous wrong doings and colonialism.' and we agree/argue that, it doesn't justify Russian actions.

So Putin takes Ukraine ends up in a guerilla war in the cities and all the time his money is disappearing, within months he will have nothing to help resupply, what the fuck will he do then?

So why are people arguing for the west to over step the mark again?

Sending any sort of boots on ground, trying to deny air space and I would also argue fucking the Russian people over (some of them whom would have been proestors) is overstepping the mark.

Our actions should have been targeted at Russian military and oligarchs.

There is no justification for Russias actions, but we need to find a solution that does not make the same fucking mistakes we have now done for decades.

Whatever you're smoking, send me 2 cases. That's some good stuff!

Back to reality...

There's been an unprecedented, united, unanimous response from western democracies condemning Russia's invasion of The Ukraine. Hell, even historically neutral Switzerland has joined in.
Yeah, but on the other hand, I've seen several Twitter accounts that joined years ago but posted their first post in the last few days who are strongly in favour of Russia. So it's hard to tell.

I definitely see a concerted effort to convince Indian and African people to come down on the side of Putin. This is possibly happening elsewhere too, but those are the ones that are in English so I can actually read. Whether this is an organised attempt, or just individuals from those countries giving their honestly held beliefs, it's unclear. Certainly Indian Twitter has a record of jumping on anyone who criticises the current government on any issue whatsoever.

A lot of well meaning and outraged folk thinking with hearts rather than heads. The plight of the Ukraine is pretty emotive stuff unless you have a heart of stone. The pragmatic choice which is probably to make sympathetic noises, shaft Russia with sanctions, but basically leave Ukraine to its fate is naturally not a comfortable choice.

Putin is absolutely winning the proxy war imo -
Your opinion is that Ukraine should surrender.

Your opinion is that Russia would have already won the war by now (back on day 2)

Your opinion is that Russia should turn to crypto (despite being unaware they caused the major price drop through efforts to ban it in December of last year)

Now your opinion is that Putin is winning the “proxy war” despite the fact that he’s managed to unify 146 of 193 countries at the UN in condemning his actions, managed to unify NATO even making the Germans overturn generations of policy on supplying lethal arms outside their country and he’s even managed to make historically neutral countries apply sanctions to Russia.

Your opinion is worth exactly what it’s written on. #TB

There is absolutely a split of opinion online, I wasn't 'making it up'.

SWP has some great ones. Mouth breathing cumstain is one I've seen used in the past.

Oh for simpler times. When we could call each other smelly bastard and spineless ****.
Someone’s reporting all my posts so I’m going to have to retire most of them for the day.

Apart from that though they have been spot on!

China and India are backing Russia here, or not open to criticising them - that's nearly half the worlds population.

'Your opinion is that Russia should turn to crypto (despite being unaware they caused the major price drop through efforts to ban it in December of last year)'

I've been involved in crypto for years and crypto is proving why it's a valuable resource right now.

Go have a glass of water and calm down pal.
