Russian invasion of Ukraine

There’s been a lot of nasty sexist undertones to the insults thrown at her lately, and this is a fine example.
Not sexist for me. She’s the daughter of a Baron who told young people that cancelling their Netflix subscription and buying less coffee would get them on the property ladder.

I doubt she had that kind of problem in purchasing her first home.

I doubt she realises what she said about Netflix and coffee is absurd either.

Still, C4 employ her to look round houses and show off her needlecraft skills.

She was moronic for saying that but I don’t think she should lose her job for it.

I see the convoy to the North West of Kyiv is totally stalled. Ukrainian drones, artillery and NLAWs have taken out vehicles every so many miles and vehicles fuel has run low and supply logistics are non existent. Ukraine happy to leave it where it is.

I still would though.

Who is she, can't be arsed to trawl back?

There's been a bridge blown apparantly....looking good so far.

You do know the Times made that quote up and then had to issue a retraction, right?

And what business is it of yours, or mine, or anybody’s who her dad is?

No, I didn’t, because if I did, I wouldn’t have posted the above, but social media has corrected me…

I couldn’t really care less about her either way but for a newspaper to make up shit about you then be subjected to thousands of ugly, sexist insults from social media bullies must be awful, no matter who your dad is.

But anyway, back to how much of a **** Putin is…

This isn't only about NATO on Russia's doorstep. This is about challenging the post cold war order which has been ordered and enforced by and for the benefit of the US.
The rise of China has created a more favourable and enabling environment to challenge the unipolar world which has seen the US as the world hegemon, and change it into a multipolar world where other countries and/or blocs are willing and able to challenge that hegemony.
In other words, this is possibly the first salvo in a nascent global power struggle akin to the cold war.
My business partner for the legal firm we have lives in Paderne and I'm only 7km away up the hill from you. I am going to get him helivacced out of there now incase you start drinking with him and I suddenly find I have to redistribute all profits back to the Portuguese state ;-)

I see the CDU over here have still failed to condemn Russia for the invasion and the paradox as you have correctly pointed out is that Putin is a far right nationalist leader with a hammer and sickle projected in the background as cover - far left ideology and far right ideology always lead to an autocratic leader presiding over a supressed nation and nothing ever good comes out of either.
The main problem with Autocracy I think is that the main man makes the final decision on policy.
All very well, but if the main man is wrong the policy will still be carried out and this is because he cannot 'lose face' (show weakness).
Also his hand picked minions will blindly follow their leader, in any event, because the penalties for not doing so are severe indeed!
Basically Putin is just speaking to an echo chamber of fanboys who will not criticise him.
