Mary Ds / trouble at The Townley

The passive rags have never come out and criticised it and they allow it to happen. I’ve been smacked before by a group of 5/6 when I was completely on my own and vulnerable. Fuck the lot of them.
Funny but I know a few "passive rags" who have called such behaviour out. As for "allowing it to happen", you can level that one at sections of every fanbase to be fair.

Unfortunately then for me maybe its the way I look, shaved head (bald) that gives the wrong impression.

We thought it funny at the time but a Chelsea fan came up to me at Wembley and said "are you part of City's firm"
wtf we were just queuing up to go in and singing a bit.
I don't think they can use your shaved head as an excuse as you and your lad were minding your own business. I'm similar to you - shaved head and just a few years younger. I was walking up that passage at the side of The Townley to the ground yesterday - not sure if we're talking about the same passage where you and your lad were attacked? - on my own to the ground at roughly the same time that it kicked off so not sure if it happened moments later and I was ahead of it? The police horses went past as I was walking up the passageway

If City fans had a reputation for that sort of shithouse behaviour I’d like to think we’d sort it among ourselves. When a Chelsea fan who was a teenager got smacked a few years ago there was a Twitter witch-hunt to find the city fan who did it. No such thing ever happens with the rags, they used to chant they do what they want.

Of course not all of them are like that, but there’s a huge percentage who either support the bullying or ignore it.

I do agree that as a collective, I don't think we're as bad as them when it comes to this kind of thing.

If yesterday is anything to go by the MIB's have gone up another Hooligan level. Now wearing balaclavas like the Russian and Eastern European Ultras. We've all seen it kick off between club fans in England, but I've never seen fans fighting each other openly wearing balaclavas before.

Got on a double unit tram in Picadilly station at about 3:15 yesterday. Bit of a squeeze then discovered it was full of the shithouses, decided to just stay stum and listen to them singing their stupid ditties.

One of the twats behind me tried to grab my City beenie hat but I stopped him and asked him if he though it was funny, one of the better Rags told him he was out of order.

As we approached the Etihad Campus stop some of the youger ferral twats managed to cave in the roof of the carriage and there were huge chunks everywhere you could see the plastic lining above it. I was the only person who said anything to them, told them they should be ashamed of themselves and did they not realise what the cost would be to Metrolink to get the unit fit for purpose again.

I hate everything about that shithouse of a Club and would be delighted if they would just fade into oblivion.

I am not sure if I am the older fella (56) or not but me and my son were walking down the path to the Townley to meet mates when the shithouses came from a side entrance and said "are you City", what all two of us?.

I have a broken jaw but my son fell, hit his head on the floor and was knocked out.

It was the scariest few minutes of my life as it seemed like an eternity before he came round.

Thankfully he seems to be ok but has been kept in hospital for observation.

I didn't think it was possible but I fuckin hate the red bastards even more today than yesterday.
Absolute fuckin Vermin, only seem big attacking families. Hope you’re both okay mate.

Last time there was a proper "hooligan meet" City's firm chased them all over town.

Myself and my lad were walking past the Corner Shop as a group of the scrotes pitched up and started attacking it. Young lads with hoodies and faces covered in some cases. Haven't seen anything like that in years and looked more like what you see in Eastern Europe. What drives them to want that? Just watch the football FFS.

That's awful mate. Wishing you and your lad a speedy recovery.

Not sure as it happened so quickly but when I couldn't get my son to respond I went to get help and remember some police horses coming towards us.

This might not go down well in some quarters but plenty of football hooligans do actually abide by an unwritten code of conduct where attacks like this on innocent fans are strictly off limits.
That's true to some extent but in my experience LFC and MUFC fans have a track record of attacking lone fans, sometimes older ones, even those with kids. I have seen familes bricked in cars near Anfield and Old Trafford. The Villa fans did it at our recent Wembley final (which I have not seen from them before). Attacking the Townley is absurd. It is mostly used by older fans and supporters' clubs. They really are spineless cowards.

Agree with a lot of that, and plenty of Villa fans were proper dickheads at Wembley.

It was an utterly cowardly assault on the City fan and his son, but I actually don't think it was a cheap shot trying it on at The Townley itself. It was always going to be packed with drinkers outside at that time and if anything, they bit off more than they could chew. Most of those boozing outside won't be hooligan types but I've always said that City have plenty of non-hooligan fans who can more than look after themselves if trouble finds them and there's enough of them. My mate was there and he said it was just a bit of bottle throwing as the police were quickly on the scene - he reckons if they'd genuinely tried to make a move onto the forecourt of the pub, they'd have got totally annihilated!

Sorry to hear that mate. Hope you are both okay. Rest up with the match highlights on repeat and enjoy.

When I came out from etihad , very late, when we played Tottenham, there was a group of late teenage city supporters in the square pissed/coked up, who some of which were ‘ballies’.
