Isn’t Michael Gove a Chelsea fan? Boris could be tempted to give it him to run just to get him out of the way for a while.
He can be head of youth development. His experience as Levelling Up minister will be invaluable in EDS players playing in the first team.

So where would it flow to? That needs to be transparent.
I assume it would be frozen with all the other Oligarch assets. I'm guessing the frozen assets can't actually be taken and used by the government and at some stage in the future would need to be unfrozen, don't really know though.

I don’t think any of us do and even if we did know the protocol, this government would fuck it up anyway, so all we can do is watch this space.

The only way way they can terminated their contract is to pay the amount of the value of whatever their signed on their contract, more likely they will just run down their contract unless the situation will be very dire and the club can't pay the player wages anymore.

Not true at all. Both parties can terminate the contract, if there are valid grounds.

Uncertainty around potential ownership and ability to meet current wage expenses, they will be lucky to get a competent buyer if sponsors back out, on top of that players will have to pay some of the expenses from their own pockets, they all are legitimate grounds.

Sporting players did something similar:

Stop inserting a dose of realism into the thread.

There is currently no mechanism to confiscate assets so all the government can do is freeze them. They cannot sell the club and donate the proceeds to Ukraine or anywhere else unless Abramovich agrees to this I’d say. Why would he do that as currently there is a possibility that he will have an unfrozen asset at some future date?

To Chelskie. Providing them with funds to build a state of the art stadium, and allowing them to sell SB at a whopping profit to the new American owner of the club. Surplus funds from the windfall will allow the chavs to buy Haaland, Mbappe, Bellingham and Phil Jones and enable Boris to re- furbish number 10 again.

I wonder if Chelsea will make a pitch saying that as a loan without conditions (by all accounts) it’s their money! I would, if only on the basis that the Tories don't look like they will repay any of the dodgy money they have received in the last couple of years from friends of Putin.

Chelsea's hopes and dreams finding a new home.
