from what I've read, they aren't allowed to open the club shop or sell refreshments. Maybe it's just Jeremy Clarkson and his buddies in corporate that will be looked after.

Not all of them, some are showing support for the invasion. For example, the gymnast with the z on his top, and the mothers and children lining up in the z shape at the nursery or wherever it was.

Polling in Russia shows substantial support for the invasion if not an overwhelming majority. Ok, polling in Russia is dubious but this is backed up by many anecdotal reports too.

They won't be allowed to print tickets, they will only be allowed spend money on very specific items and that's it. I can see them playing plain home made kits by the end of the month when Nike do a runner.

I've no idea what happens to Chelsea long term, but if the government seize the club, does that mean they can eventually sell it and then pocket the money?

That is not something that should be dismissed as a possibility down the line.

This action by the UK Govt is
an unnecessary and unwarranted escalation of this Cancel Russia campaign which is in full swing among western nations. I think two years of introducing toxic authoritarian policies on the basis of a viral threat, engendered by the use of propagandised hysteria, has displaced an ability to deal rationally and proportionately with a real crisis. Unless there is a fast return to a solid ground based proportionate response, to this crisis, and indeed future problems we are in trouble deep

Abramovich is the owner of companies involved with supplying the Russian military so it’s odd to characterise this as unwarranted. It not like he’s just the conductor of the Berlin orchestra.

Yep, his stake in Evraz Steel makes Russian tanks.

He's not having a good week because Evraz cancelled their dividend yesterday which was worth £138m to Abramovich.

Next week Evraz is de-listed from London top 100 because their price has fallen so much.
