Our history of letting players leave when they want to leave for a reasonable fee “should” be enough to satisfy any concerns on the haaland representative side. But realise thats naive. 100% there will be a release clause.

But if he signs on for 6 years and wants to leave after 3 years then fine and we’ll move on. Suspect it will be a £100m+ fee anyway and a “non-prem” clause for our safety.

Expecting any player to devote half/most of their career to us is asking a lot. Especially for a player of his level. We’ve been spoiled over the years.

I think its fair to assume Silva, Aguero etc werent signing thinking theyd do 10 years. Nothing saying the same wont happen again here. Player (and agents) get well looked after
We don’t do release clauses, you’re the naive one if you think we do

It's a fair assumption. Regardless of how the outside world like to portray the club, the truth is we are world class pretty much from top to bottom and players soon get to realise that when they've been in the fold for a while.
Players may come thinking we're a stop gap but we have a habit of winning them over.

We might have been a stop gap a decade ago, now we are a main player in european football

I don't doubt they are friends, they played together for the national team for ages. Alfie seems to like to stir the pot a bit occasionally as well.

Put it this way, I think every norwegian is surprised every time Fjørtoft gets brought up as some kind of "itk" journalist internationally. He works the television circuit for the bundesliga broadcaster over here and is always several days or weeks behind the rumor mill.

And I can't stress this enough: The man is an absolute cock. The time he was shot down by Erling himself in the middle of a interview because he tried to switch to english to get his 5 minutes of fame tells you everything about how much a leech he is
You’re Norwegian, right?

So you're saying he's Didi Hamman without the cigarettes and alcohol problem?

Be interesting to see what front 3 Pep uses if/when we sign Haaland
Foden/Haaland/Mahrez

Although, if Sterling sticks around then it would be interesting to see a return of our 2017/18 style. Sterling on the right with Foden and Haaland essentially replacing Sane and Aguero.

Release clauses are not a part of English football culture, they are rarer than hens teeth in this country and City cerainky don’t include them in contracts
