Political relations between UK-EU

Yes, unfortunately that pain looks like it is coming. To get people out to vote, the ideal thing would be to have a leader who goes out and inspires an electorate, Obama is probably the most recent one I can think of. I would love to see a politican with charisma make the case for immigration, properly take on Farage and stop the punching down that is too common nowadays.

It should be piss easy to make the case with 1.2m + vacancies in my opinion. Nobody to wipe your Mams arse since the nursing home lost its foreign workers? Shortage of NHS dentists since the Romanian and Polish ( many were round here ) dentists went home? Why we produce fewer crops because we have no seasonal workers ....... then just point out the gap and the reason and the source. If immigrants were driving down UK workers wages then with 1.2m vacancies Lidl would surely be paying £35ph to retain staff and driving a delivery van would be even better. Bricklayers should be laying 20 bricks in one hour a day and then going home now the Poles aren't stealing their jobs?

And the Russians.... Manchester building sites couldn't get enough EU workers.

It was true. They could take VAT off fuel bills.

They haven't.
If the VAT on fuel is 5% then Sunak was getting £50 for a £1000 bill. As it doubles, he now gets £100 for a £2000 bill. That’s how to claw money back.

Oh, and has anybody noticed it’s the daily charge that has doubled, not the energy we use? Does that mean that the energy companies have been clawing back what they lost up until now?

"clawing back"? No, just taking the piss out of us and an uncaring government

remember when getting one was going to be a piece of piss - it could be accusing his bestie of having colonial anti-Britain based feelings towards us hasn't helped either

Logically everything you said is spot on. In time immigration will have to be expanded, we have a aging population and a poor pool of national service workers/job terms to choose from.

However, what politician can win on a platform of "Lads we all fucked up". The tories have rather brilliantly/co-op the country/electorate into brexit and us Vs Europe.

The political ticket that runs on, the country is in the shit we need to grab a shovel and dig out way out will never win against the feel good fantasy of a oven ready deal and world leading /world beating bluster that johnson specialise in.

Unfortunately it will have to get truly awful for enough people to be affected for anything to change.

The secret of Johnson campaign success is that the sweet lie will always be preferable to the bitter truth.

what will succeed is a Politician saying THEY made a fuck up.........the people who knew it was going to be a fuck up are aware - its about giving the brainwashed the opportunity to transfer their mistake to someone else so they don't need to own up to their own mistake that is the Holy Grail

Very true, but this time around the mirage of ‘taking back control’ and ‘sovereignty’, have become a little more obviously a lie, but more than that, people are going to be hit very, very hard financially from now into the foreseeable future.
If there’s one thing that shapes opinions and intentions, it‘s cost of living and quality of life.

shocker isn't it?
But seriously, every day seems to bring further insight into the sheer complexity of being in, and trying to get out of, the EU., economically, socially, and politically, and the every day effects of our ties with Europe, and the huge damage that is being caused so unecessarily.
The best description I heard was ‘trying to extract the eggs from a baked cake, and it surely gives the lie to the idea that they ‘knew what they were voting for’ because if this is what they saw coming and yet still voted for it, then you have to question the motives or sanity of some.
