I agree with you on all that, on the other hand I'd be a bit dissapointed because it would rule him out from taking over from Pep, where I think the opposite would be true and everything he needed would be in place with us.

Arteta hasn't actually done it yet, though. At times this season it has looked as though he is actually making progress while at others it's clear the process still has a way to go. It looks as though they may finish in the top four but it's by no means certain, and he's been there for how long? That those in charge at United would sit back for 3 or 4 seasons while their "promising" manager booted out most of the squad while trying to replace them with young players who might finish in the top four in the foreseeable future doesn't seem likely to me! Ten Haag seems the latest flavour of the month with echoes of the Busby Babes and other inspirational episodes from their rich 'istry and tradition which might keep the fans happy for a season but will ultimately see him paying the price as the shield the money men need. United need a good news story every day; they don't have time for rebuilding the club.

Hopefully Pep will extend and that'll be less of a issue.

There is no way on God's green earth than ten Hag has insisted on an ex-united anything. It's just ridiculous how they want to tie his hands before he has even arrived.

He should steer well clear.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out if he does sign, the one thing that is clear is that the players they have at present don't really suit his style of play.
So lets assume that they have decided they want to change that style of play, it takes time to do so and will the fans allow this?
I am sure they will if they can see signs of improvement but what if they dont? What if they miss out on CL football again next season, what if they finish 8th? The self entitled pricks have thrown their toys out and they have still finished in a position that many clubs only dream about.

How do they go about replacing the aging squad? we saw Pep struggle in his first season without the full backs he needed. The players they have there have thrown every manager since the pisscan under the bus at the very first chance. Can you imagine the fake Ronaldo being happy being dropped to the bench?

So many things could go wrong with this appointment, and for the first time I can think of this is less about the club setting the expectations and more about the fans.

It’s the out going of players they will have in the summer which would worry me. Cavani, Lingaard, Pogba and what ever happens with the Greenwood situation. If Grealish and Lukaku are going for £100 million what would it take to replace that lot?

Then you have the likes of Mata, Jones, Matic, Bailly,Van De Beek, Rashford and Martial all probably wanting out and need replacing to improve the squad depth. It’s a big turnover of players and I don’t see the youth set up bringing anyone through to improve the squad on top of signings. I see the overall squad capability declining over the next 12 months rather than improving, no champions league football to bring in extra revenue as well. They will be another Arsenal fighting it out for top 4 in the next few years.

Put that cream on and try to relax, or you’ll end up with hyper tension. Oh sorry, I’m to late for that, as it seems that tension has already taken hold!
