Atletico (A) - Post-Match Thread

Apparently the UEFA investigation is concerned with the events surrounding the foul on Foden, the sending off and the ensuing trouble in the tunnel. According to the Guardian Atletico's rough stuff was a response to what they claimd was City's "time wasting and gamesmanship". Their case seems to be particularly strong - the ref's response to Atleti's disgraceful fouling was 3 yellow cards and a very late red. This is scarcely more than City's wounded; one bloody head wound and two injured players who had to go off. Foden clearly did not roll around while KdB and Kyle didn't milk any attention. Maybe Eddi did but then the ref seemed to take time keeping far more seriously than violence. Being pathetically weak on the fouling he took accusations of time wasting seriously, announcing 9 minutes stoppage time and playing over 13.

Prehistoric ? So we ARE a history club after all then ?
Not quite. Prehistoric is before history started.

History started in 1977.
History means winning trophies between 1977 and 2010.
If something happened between 1977 and 2010 that did not include winning a trophy then it is not history. (Eg being banned from Europe).
Any trophies won before 1977 or after 2010 don't count as history, except for a few notable exceptions, such as a European cup (but not the European Cup Winners Cup) won before 1977.

It was a bruising encounter and eventful. The added time just went on for ever. Looked a bit tired in the second half and thought subs may have come on earlier.

They should of been down to 10 men a lot earlier. Ref and linesman were useless.

Just hope the fan who got wheeled out at full time whilst kept in makes a recovery, plus the guy who fell ill on the plane coming back.

Plus the guy on my row who fell asleep after 5mins and missed entire the match - we are through lol !

No doubt Atletico Madrid will be penalised, but they will appeal and it will be overturned, and City will be penalised and take it on the chin
