I know it's not the heavyweights, but this fight is the best fight ever bar none
First round greatest ever and even better than ward and gatti

edge it to Corrales v Castillo just as it’s 10 rounds of just stood in front of each other trading back and forth
Always think Hagler Hearns was pretty one sided after the first round
Hearts also, but I thought they were all fabulous. The story of Hearns breaking his hand in the 1st round of Hagler fight but not wanting it reported for several days and only getting it treated when he was home, so it didn't take away from Haglers win is the stuff of legend.Who was your fave fighter from the four kings ? Mine was a he Detroit hitman hearns who should have beat sugar ray twice
Hard to give it 100% with a broken hand.edge it to Corrales v Castillo just as it’s 10 rounds of just stood in front of each other trading back and forth

The cut on hagler's head was crazy and the blood piss out ? i always thought Hearns was a crazy fucker

Ali was a big guy with a punch and the ability to take nearly any other punch, he was faster than any heavyweight before or since. He was also very clever and skillful. He was the most complete heavyweight of all time in his prime. Its very easy to put him top of the tree, that's why he is nearly always guaged as the best in every poll.Comparing eras is almost impossible, especially because of the size difference. I suspect Tyson would be very difficult to beat in any era because of his skill, intelligence, and his sheer size. We will never know but the same debate has occurred for a hundred years, from Jack Johnson, Dempsey, Sam Langford, through Marciano, Louis, Ali, Tyson, and onward.

A truly gifted fighter but he did lose to Joe Frazier and Ken Norton (I don't count the fights later in his career). He was 50 pounds lighter than Fury, at his peak, and obviously would also give away height and reach. I don't doubt that he was one of the best, and probably THE best, but when we compare eras this way, the question becomes could he beat Fury, and I am not sure he could.Ali was a big guy with a punch and the ability to take nearly any other punch, he was faster than any heavyweight before or since. Great point well made.yeah it’s impossible to compare from one era to another you just have to think of both in same era with same technology and training methods etc… who would’ve won
Have you watched the World Cup final from 1966 recently ? Any championship side would beat either team by 5 or more if you just picked them up then and dropped them on a pitch now but we don’t think if Bobby Moore and Charlton were born today they would be championship players
Easily. Fury is so slow compared to Ali. He's not fought anyone even close to Ali. The current crop are poor compared to the 70s. But you can only beat whats in front of you.A truly gifted fighter but he did lose to Joe Frazier and Ken Norton (I don't count the fights later in his career). Johnny Giles would’ve taken either of them.yeah it’s impossible to compare from one era to another you just have to think of both in same era with same technology and training methods etc… who would’ve won

Boxing is different. Boxers haven't speeded up the past 40 years. Sure they have got bigger but they have also got a lot slower. And many are just not as skillful. Same reason Cruff Pele Maradona, Best, Puskas etc would still be top of their game today.yeah it’s impossible to compare from one era to another you just have to think of both in same era with same technology and training methods etc… who would’ve won

Also lost 3 plus years of his prime to politics. The only thing that detracts from Ali as a person imo was his belittling of Frasier, with the uncle Tom jibes. Unecessary and unpleasant.yep it’s the obvious choice but the correct one, every time there’s a heavyweight fight you will hear countless people say “ it’s heavyweight boxing and can all be over with one punch “
Ali fought for nearly 20 years through the toughest era in heavyweight history with some of the most feared and destructive punchers that have stepped in the ring. Not one of them managed that one punch
possibly the best chin in boxing
I agree . Watched the sugar fight that many times and I still change my mind constantly . Love the first Duran Leonard fight especially at the end when sugar puts his hand out to say fair and Duran growls at him . Legends who will never be surpassed .Hearts also, but I thought they were all fabulous. Shame Hagler retired as he did and the Leonard fight.
