Paquetá is an incredible player who will likely be one of the stars of the Brazilian team in the World Cup

He definitely is an attacking midfielder, but also solid defensively. I’ll post the WhoScored summary which I think is a good representation, and also add a word for his ball control, playmaking and high pressing. Basically, perfect for usWhat kind of midfielder is he? His numbers look good from an attacking sense but does he have a defensive side to his game? I've not kept up to date on the French league for a while.

same mate .In my head I've already accepted that this season is Bernardo's swansong with City. That way, if he chooses to stay then it will feel like a new signing and if he goes then at least I got to appreciate his last few months that little bit more.
Having said that, I can't help but feel sad typing it out.
I’m skeptical because it’s Romano, but if he’s actually on to something, I’ll let him off the hook for a yearWell from the looks of this and the ten minutes I've just watched of him he looks really well rounded. Even his weak foot seems solid.
I'll try and watch a game or two when I can because he looks exciting.
Leeds entertaining bids on Phillips, surprised we've not been linked more. It would be a simple fit and story you would think.
If you wanted a 'pep midfielder' pre trained. 3-4 seasons under Beisla would be the one.Good point - there wasn't too much difference in quality between Phillips & Rice when they were playing together in the England team as CDMs in the Euros.
I’m curious what the people who were quick to claim Rice were overhyped on his thread think of Phillips. I personally don’t think he’s much special (and I’ve just jinxed the Saturday game lol)If you wanted a 'pep midfielder' pre trained. 3-4 seasons under Beisla would be the one.
I like Declan would be a great addition but for the price and role, and manager he's just played under Phillips makes far more sense to me this window.I’m curious what the people who were quick to claim Rice were overhyped on his thread think of Phillips. Phillips having been managed by Bielsa is completely irrelevant to me, but respect your opinionI like Declan would be a great addition but for the price and role, and manager he's just played under Phillips makes far more sense to me this window.
I've not claimed anything on Rice (or Phillips) previously but I'd rate Rice a country mile ahead of him. Phillips isn't a City player in the making.I’m curious what the people who were quick to claim Rice were overhyped on his thread think of Phillips. Agreed!I've not claimed anything on Rice (or Phillips) previously but I'd rate Rice a country mile ahead of him. Phillips isn't a City player in the making.
Maybe not, just think to come in and play as a lone 6, hes gonna take less positional training that Rice who's mostly been in a 4231 under Moyes. I could be wrong though, he might find it a piece of piss.Phillips having been managed by Bielsa is completely irrelevant to me, but respect your opinion
If a player isn’t tactically smart enough to absorb the positional system quickly, then he’s not fit for us anyway.Maybe not, just think to come in and play as a lone 6, hes gonna take less positional training that Rice who's mostly been in a 4231 under Moyes. True. Phillips (or Nunes etc) for half the price of Rice, and Bellingham 2023 would be my fantasy move.If a player isn’t tactically smart enough to absorb the positional system quickly, then he’s not fit for us anyway.
Then people next year will be here saying “wE hAvE rOdRi aNd nUnEs!!”True. Phillips (or Nunes etc) for half the price of Rice, and Bellingham 2023 would be my fantasy move.
Definitely. Then people next year will be here saying “wE hAvE rOdRi aNd nUnEs!!”
Not really because most likely next summer Gundogan will be leaving. Then people next year will be here saying “wE hAvE rOdRi aNd nUnEs!!”
