Leeds United (A) | Post Match Thread

There's been a couple of matches recently where Grealish has got stuck in while Foden has been largely anonymous at times and today was one of those. Worked hard, constantly targeted with no support from the ref as is often the case, and this was one of those battling games where he shows his value.

He's not a silky skills type of player which is why I think a lot of people don't see him as top class, but compare him with the likes of someone like Pogba who cost almost as much, does sod all year in year out and is walking away on a free....

That said, I always thought he was overrated at Villa and I certainly wouldn't have paid £100m for him, but that's not his fault and he's not the failure that many suggest he is,
I might be a happy clapper, but holding onto various players whose second seasons were where they “got it”. So far for Grealish, it’s been largely uninspiring, but his pass completion rate is probably close to 100%. I suggest we give him time. He’s likely to be better than Gerry Creaney…………

In defence of both Neville and Tyler (not something I do easily, or indeed have ever done) they both called out Tierney's lack of whistle on more than one occasion and Neville was spot on when he said that Dallas' injury was down to poor refereeing beforehand.
I noticed that too, Neville was also genuinely pissed off at the way the fans were behaving in the stands. I'm about to watch MOTD just to hear how misleading their take is for myself.

Grealish beat his man three times in the first half and got hacked down for it, winning the freekick we scored the first goal from, and if the ref had even half been paying attention would have booked him for it. As it was the player ultimately injured himself.

In the second half he was dangerous, created a really dangerous chance that a number nine would dream of attacking, controlled play, and was such a threat that he needed 2 or 3 players on him to keep him contained. All with a smile on his face and with a joke to the crowd who chucked paper at him.

All in a must win game that everyone agreed would be a tough place to play. Dunno what else the poor lad needs to do before people thank him for the shift he put in.

Great result from a potential tricky game. I was surprised by the line up as I didn’t think Pep would leave both KDB and Bernardo out. For those who said that they had a bad feeling about the game, have a bit more faith and positvity. Referee was terrible and he nearly lost all control. Let’s keep it up Blues and shut those dippers up once and for all.
Some on here need to have a LOT more faith. Getting a bit bored of people saying we were nervous during the last few matches. Looking back over the month I've seen Liverpool scrape past Watford 2-0 at home, one of which was a last minute penalty. Then they drew with us in a match where we were the better team, then drew 3-3 at home to Benfica, then only just put our patched up team out of the FA Cup. Then an unconvincing 2-0 win against a very poor Everton side, a similar performance where they huffed and puffed against Villareal and then just got past Newcastle today by the one goal. The only side they thrashed was the 4-0 win against the rags, but this is the worst rags side I can remember so that's no real achievement. And even then they didn't look particularly convincing.

Meantime we started with the 2-0 win at Burnley, then the two games vs Liverpool in between two tough matches against Atletico, after which we put 3 past Brighton, 5 past Watford, 4 past Real and another 4 past Leeds today and in virtually every match it could and should easily have been more.

My point is the scousers have looked nervy to me, while we've been scoring for fun again especially in the past couple of weeks, even without our best XI. Don't get me wrong, I feel it too and I'm sure these run ins must be some form of torture. But although the fans are edgy I don't think the team are at all. Liverpool on the other hand don't look convincing at all to me, just lucky they've not come up against better opposition for the run in.

Great result! but that was one of the worst 4-0 performances I've seen from city. I wasnt convinced with that starting line-up from minute one. Rodri scoring early was pivotal.

Gundogan, Sterling, Cancelo and Grealish were awful. Gundogan hasn't looked sharp all season, Sterling is unbearable to watch and Grealish I can't see him getting much better next season.

Dias, Rodri, Foden played well, great Away support too!
Go to sleep mate.

Foden anonymous? I suggest you take another look at city’s first three goals

Great day out. Well played everyone players and fans top turnout. Walking from the ground back to train station after the game was surreal " the games gone " only joking but I'm sure people who did it understand.
