the thing to watch on Friday morning will be vote share not council seats lost. Its not a national poll but after previous setbacks on by-elections (and future ones that are likely) MP's will be transposing voter share onto their own sometimes slim majorities and wondering whether Johnson is such a winner any more

No windfall tax on the energy companies handing out millions, or should that be billions, in bonuses to their executives and shareholders, who will salt that money away to an offshore tax haven identified and expliained by my tory MP who has 'business interests' in the Cayman Islands as 'legal tax avoidance' schemes.

He waltzes over there every summer with his wife on expenses, but also voted for water companies to keep pumping raw sewage into rivers because investment in preventing that from happening isn't great for their, and his, profits.

And all the while these shenanigans are going on, there will be no increase in benefits to pensioners, the poorest in Europe, and others struggling to meet everyday expenses because to do so would be 'inflationary'.

People wothout a pot to piss in, the poorest people in the country, many living in the most deprived areas in Europe, can't expect a half decent rise in their circumstances because the twats running the country think that would lead to a rise in prices?
