Leroy likes thisPace is never pointless - it's not our explicit attacking strategy but acceleration/pace aids in movement around the box, beating the offside trap, pressing, tracking etc. It gives defences another thing to be wary of - like the tactic against Liverpool at the Etihad.
I would agree but pace is still vital, the counter attack is a huge weapon, the team with Kun, Sterling and Sane were devastating at it, our present forward line can look pedestrian at times.Pointless might be a bit strong but pace without technical ability in our forward line just doesn't cut it. Sterling has pace and great technique but should finish more often than he does. Walkers pace at the back is essential to our high line
