I've never seen Soccer AM but I can imagine what you're talking about. Personally I remember the goals more than the mistakes so that's probably why I don't understand the over the top criticism.Maybe and some fans are overly critical. Remember “Angry fan” on SoccerAm? They portrayed that phenomenon really well.
People remember mistakes more than goals.
It’s why these threads have less pages when we win as the people less critical don’t scream their frustrations as much.
I like Sterling. He’s scored tons of goals for us, but you can also see why he frustrates the life out of our fans too.
His movement and work rate is probably better than 95% of our players, but he misses sitters and freezes when he has time to think.
I can understand the frustration too, he's almost the complete package but not quite there. I'm fine with that, the same can also be said of Foden, Bernardo, Mahrez, Gundogan, etc in fact you can say the same for the majority of our players. The difference is when Ederson or Sterling make a mistake it leads to a goal/missed chance so people remember that more than a load of misplaced passes in midfield that lead to nothing much, it's risk v reward but for supporters affections rather than goals.
I still stand by the fact that this over the top criticism of one or two players is seriously bizarre, especially after a great game like we've just seen.
