Has anyone a screenshot of the league when we were 14 clear, did they have three games in hand at the time or two? Can someone put to bed the myth that is being peddled that we have blown such a huge lead when the reality might be they have narrowed it from eight to three in five months.

EDIT: Checked league games since Jan 1 - we have won 12, lost 1, drawn 3 - 39 / 48 points. Wall pushers have won 14, lost none, drawn three so 45 / 51 points. So we are six behind with a game in hand over the last 17 games since January 1.

The max we would have had if Liverpool won there games in hand would of been 8 points there was still half a season to go and the that was when they announced the league was done even some bloggers said the same.

Liverpool were the highest spending team in the pl era right up until Chelsea came along. They've outspent most of the league for decades with just one covid trophy to show for it.
 
Imagine for a second. They bottle both finals. The absolute cope by the media if the quad squad end up with just the league cup.
I mean Madrid have all eyes on them and Chelsea are on a bit of a bounce and will want to do them after being shafted last day out.

The last couple of games the dippers have looked a but shaky and know they must come away with something.
 
Just popped on RAWK they are not taking it well at all, the normal insults but City have another secret weapon, and that the collective will of nearly every other football fan to not see Liverpool win anything, because of the false media narrative that is shoved down everyone's throats, the media perhaps are a little nervous in handling them mainly because of the Suns coverage of Hillsborough (which was disgusting)

LFC is not a football club its a cult!

They’ve been unbearable since the 70’s and 80’s mate (and the blue ones in the 80’s when they had some success).

IME worse than the rags (because at least we can have a bit of a laugh with our Mancunian mates), these fuckers, if the internet was around back then everybody would have seen it, unfortunately it was left to anyone who had the misfortune to holiday in North Wales etc back then to witness it, utter fuckin feral shit causing gobshites they were, and still are.

I lived in North Wales for 5 years and it was riddled with Dipper's. Utterly unbearable.
 
If the dippers fluke the FA Cup on the weekend and everything else goes to plan then young Haaland can make his debut hatrick against the twats in the community shield to lay down a marker for what's too come.
Almost wanted them to win Saturday for a moment - it's okay it's passed, just got a bit giddy for a moment

Lived there myself for a couple of years too, parents (last 25 years) and brother live there, have quite a lot of family that have been there all their lives, I remember the kids had lovely, quaint Welsh accents, quite endearing actually, didn’t see them for a good 15 years and then, when I did, I was met with an abomination of some kind of Welsh/scouse hybrid accent, like nails down a blackboard, horrible to listen to.

I'd sooner win both games.
A win and a draw does it though.
There's always a danger where a final match comes down to goal difference, that the other team involved could get a 'freak' high score to take the title away.

He's actually right in a way but not in the way he thinks. Liverpool were allowed to include £35m of non-existent costs in their accounts for their non-existent new stadium in order to pass UEFA FFP, and UEFA never even questioned it.

I’ve tried to point this out to a scouser. Pep is the difference, this squad under any other manager would not be as good. Swap Pep for say Allegri, Zidane or Anchelotti and Liverpool would have won the league.

You only need to look how he raised the bar in Spain and Germany. Give Tommy Tuchell this squad, they’d be third. Give Pep his squad, he’d still be aiming for 95 points.

They will have to beat the reigning World (another money generating TV Cup) Champions on saturday before they start getting giddy.

What they actually mean is FFP hasn't worked - it hasn't enabled us to return to the top of the pile and win everything
