In the cold light of day the point today was huge, at the start of the season if we had been offered a home game against a mid table side with nothing to play for and a win would win us the league we would all been happy.

Don't kid yourself they have nothing to play for. Firstly it's Gerrard so he'll want to help the dippers win the title and then you have the whole Grealish transfer they were not happy about so they'd love to stop him winning the title. They will play like their lives depend on it.

Well after that display today I am happy we at least got a draw.

In our hands now regardless of whether the dippers with against Southampton

4pts ahead and +7 goal difference

Just need to win against Villa to claim another domestic title

C'mon City

I dunno, something about this team is a bit more frail then seasons past. I don't trust them in the same way. I had like zero nerves before the brighton game in 2019, or west ham in 2014 even. Knew we would do it. Think there's a bit less bottle about this side then any other pep season, So ive got a bit more doubt.

I feel like there’s another twist in this title race, especially with the gut wrenching moments we’ve had over the last two weeks. Conceding two in the last minute at Madrid and that penalty miss today. Also, got to factor in Gerrard parking a double decker bus in front of the goal next week and Coutinho scoring a screamer. Why the fuck do they put us through this?
There may be another twist and that might happen but look, if a team of our quality can’t get over the line with 3 points in the last game of the season at home to a mid-table side then we want shooting.

Also, remember we have a full week to prepare for this game. Villa have less than 72 hours rest as they play Burnley on Thursday night. We really have no excuse if we blow it from here, and if Villa do park the bus then let’s not forget that West Ham (a better side than Villa) defended valiantly in numbers today but we still managed to score against them twice.

Goal difference is pretty unlikely to be a factor now, only scenario it comes into play is if liverpool win and draw and we lose, seeing as liverpool will win both games, I wouldn't worry about it.

That performance has not given me much confidence for next week. Thankfully it’s 7 days away so enough time to get today’s performance out of the system.
