In fairness too it was a different time and much harder for players like him than now. No disputing with more dedication and probably by fucking us off after relegation from the Prem whilst he was only 22. Rather than getting lazy and enjoying the lifestyle whilst he was playing with absolute dross for 2 years he could have achieved so much more. However, players could absolutely nail him early in a game back then knowing he was our only threat and receive a yellow at worst. It wouldn’t happen now. Watch the highlights of the cup derby at ot (where we got cheated). Early on he turned and put a great ball through for Uwe to give us the lead. We got relegated twice with him in the team ffs.
