Just wanted to add a bit of context to the game on Sunday.

We are the Champions. We are currently top of the table. We have the most wins and second best losses. We have scored the most goals and conceded the least. Aston Villa are 14th in the league, 46 points behind us. They have scored 47 goals less than us and conceded 26 more

If we play our usual game we win.

i have read and heard all about it being special for Gerrard, Coutinho and Ings but the simple truth is if we turn up Aston Villa aren’t good enough to beat us. We can only beat ourselves.

Just to add to this, we have won 11 and drawn one of our last twelve games against Villa. They haven’t taken points off us at home since 2007, when Stuart Pearce was manager. Guardiola has a 100% record against them (six wins). We’ve got this.

Ake and Laporte has to be the cb pairing, Fernandinho can't be risked in central defence. Fast start City and an early goal please to settle any nerves.

Agree with other posters.....I love Ferna but starting him is asking for trouble and gives Villa a real chance esp on the break

If we can get Walker back that would be a huge bonus

We need at least 2 goals...Gerrard will have Villa right up for this...Make no mistake those liverpool players and management will be on the phone to him all week asking for a favour......

We have to assume that the scousers wil smash Wolves.....all the pressure is off Liverpool....Wolves are on the beach and if they play anywhere near like what they played against us Liverpool with batter them.....

I wouldnt put Grealish anywhere near this game....he has a tendancy to wind opposition fans and players up at the best of times and that is not what is needed.....only play him if we are well on top with about 10 mins left.....
