Not sure the West Ham second half improvement was simply down to a good old rollicking from PepI always think we smash teams at the start of the second half. Pep recalibrates at half time. West Ham is a perfect example.

Exactly! Incidentally people are questioning the photo that shows Diaz that emerged on Tuesday, well this was also published on the club's own Facebook account!Sorry, must have come into the wrong thread. Was looking for injury news.
I agree partly - we had a lot of the ball and a fair few chances but it all felt rather laboured despite us dominating possession, meaning West Ham looked comfortable for a lot of the half, plus they exploited our defensive vulnerability to the max.Don’t know if you’re specifically referring to the West Ham game ? I thought we had a great first half, controlled it from start to finish (78% possession) but got sucker punched twice.
It's impossible to call Villa's approach. Obviously Gerrard is desperate to beat us whatever he says. I'd guess that would apply to Coutinho and Ings too. Luiz may have a soft spot for us who knows? Nine out of ten times we beat Villa, let's hope that Sunday is one of the nine.
I'd be fine with that back fourPersonally I'm not expecting any of the three injured players to be available, but hopefully we'll get some training pictures today to give a bit of clarity. Think the back four on Sunday will be Cancelo, Ake, Laporte, Zinchenko.
Would he take a chance on Walker, given the importance of the game, and the fact that it's the last game of the season?Personally I'm not expecting any of the three injured players to be available, but hopefully we'll get some training pictures today to give a bit of clarity. Only if he's been able to train this week, I presume.Would he take a chance on Walker, given the importance of the game, and the fact that it's the last game of the season?
Like that optimism and will be great if you are right. I’m not greedy and will accept 2-0 at half time.We should beat Villa easily.
Should.
In the same way we ought to have beaten QPR easily.
Hope that helps! ;-)
What is in our favour is that Gerrard will be emotional about it and have them overhyped.
I think we may be 3 up at half time.
Is it? I'd be astonished if they opted for anything other than the tried and trusted parked bus. 10 men crammed into their own area, coupled with aggressive pressing as we near their box, and the most mobile assortment of midfielders and forwards they can muster to try and sneak one on the counter. We've struggled pretty much every time we've faced that excruciatingly dull tactic this season.
If we get a result we get to stop the dippers winning the title on the last day of the season for the third time in 8 years, on top of once against the rags 10 years ago. What the fuck isn’t to like about that?
