Hi there guys, I decided to drop by as I always do during transfer windows and noticed this thread (for Juve the season is already over and we started thinking about transfers.)

I just want to say that I'll be cackling with delight if he really comes back to us, just because his transfer history with United is so ridiculous.

We stole him from them on a free when he was fresh out of youth squad, we enjoyed his full potential, we sold him back to them for 100m and he performed like shit for them, and now we'd get him back on a free with his salary cut down by half. LMAO you can't make this shit up.

We Juve fans don't trust him as far as we can throw him, but we just had our worst season in a decade and trying him out for a bit can't hurt us.
What news of de Ligt and his contract extension? If Juventus do first agree to reducing his release clause, as reported, do you not fear losing him?

I'm quite confident he'll stay with us for at least another season. Of course if we end up losing him because of the release clause we'd all be pretty upset, since he's the only strong young player we can count on in defense.

Btw Danilo has turned out a dependable all-rounder in defense for us these past two seasons and he's very well-loved by the fans, so thank you for giving him to us. Looks like we both ended up quite happy with our Cancelo-Danilo swap (not saying they're on the same level as players obviously lol).

One of those rare deals where I think both clubs and both players seem happy.

Who is going to replace Chiellini and how do you rate McKennie?

Replacing Chiellini? In our hearts, nobody. In the squad, unfortunately we still don't know. We only have De Ligt, Bonucci, Danilo (as I said, he's a bit of an all-rounder) and Rugani (sigh) that can play centre-back at the moment, so not a lot of choice.

Regarding Wes, he's become a much-needed piece of our midfield because of the fact that he always runs forward towards goal and his plays are very vertical. He's not a technical player but he brings dynamism and directness to the team. Since he's been injured we've suffered quite a bit in midfield.

I think pogba would be an excellent sign for you a bit more time on the ball and surround him with talented workers and he will be the signing of the season. What's the deal with rugani wasn't he the great Italian hope awhile back

A long time ago yeah, but he hasn't proven himself to be at the same level of our defensive standard. To be fair to him he hasn't been given a lot of caps given how dependable our starting defenders were, but he was given enough to show how good he his and he's not excellent. The time on the bench obviously hasn't made him improve. He could be good for a mid-table team, and I think he should have pushed for a transfer to get more play time.

the United statement confirming Pogbad leaving on a free is utter cringeworthy :-)
ive never heard a club thanking a player for his skills and assists before :-)

taken from the bbc sport site
"It was a low-key end to a United career that brought so many individual high moments," the Old Trafford club said in a statement.

"So many beautiful goals, assists and pieces of skill."

This is a disastrous start for Ten Hag, make no mistake about it. It's not the players leaving per se, it's the value of the 'assets' that's walked out. This was entirely foreseeable and they've had plenty of opportunity to address it.

Pogba was always going to leave and they've had barely any good performances from him. All the United lads I know are glad he has gone. For the club, that's £90m that's just walked out of the door.

Last year, Lingard had been outstanding for West Ham. He wanted to stay, West Ham wanted him, United didn't want him. The logical thing to do would be to take whatever fee was offered and use the freed up wage and fee on someone else who did want to play for the club. They were spiteful and wanted him back, knowing he would leave a year later on a free and barely played him this season, it's just astoundingly bad management! Not only that, what message does it send to other players?

I don't think Lingard is a top 4 player, but he's plenty good enough. A good manager like Moyes or Howe will make him into a £50m player. He showed up at West Ham and did a great job for them. Why couldn't United get something out of him? Bad management. Simple as that. That's why Pogba looked poor. Give Pep them players and they'll be world class and that's the difference.

Whether you rate these players or not, they are not crap. Pogba will go back to Juventus and start playing like he did and I bet Lingard will go to Newcastle/West Ham and start playing like he can. These players aren't bad players, they were badly managed. United have - in effect - lost £150m worth of player for free. That really does take some doing and give a strong impression that the club is run like a dogs dinner and that the dressing room atmosphere will be toxic. Matic has also left and whilst he's not worth much, it's more experience walking out.

They really are a lesson is how not to run a football club.

They’ll probably sign Lewandowski and N’Golo Kante on £500k a week each and turn them shit next.
