This could be a good signing in my opinion. He has experience playing for a coach who has an ideology that Pep respects and draws upon. At Leeds he played in a 4-1-4-1 and was the sole dm pivot. For England he showed he could do it in a double pivot and also slightly further ahead in the 8 position. Also he is English and I think the club are looking to go English where they can.

Aurélien Tchouaméni is the player I want most for CDM, however City may view having 2 players who expect to start all the big games as a problem going forward.

Philips won't present that immediate problem & from what I saw of him playing for England, he was excellent. He's the busy snapper to the cultured stopper we have in Rodri.

I'd be in favour of him coming here because of age, nationality & association trained statuses, as well as him being a good footballer. Also, I reckon if his name was Kalvino Philipsini, more of our fans would be excited at the prospect. :-/

If reports of Tchouaméni to the Dippers are correct, it's a decision we'll come to seriously regret, I rate the guy that highly.
