Special high price. The obsession with price here is special :)

Kalvin Phillips going to cost 50 mil plus, Leeds fans saying the club turned down a 50 mil bid in January for him from West Ham. Also that their owner is following the Leicester model
It’s a supposed fee, no guarantee what the fee actually is. It’s not our money and we’ve got no shortage in cash after last summer and this winters sales. Chill.Special high price.
Worth it to who, the club will only pay what they think he’s worth.
That's acceptable.Likewise, Is 50mil for a back up CDM really necessary?. Hopefully more around the 30mil mark.
I think I’ll take the valuation of Pep and Txiki and those a the club that have built a-title winning machine, over the random valuation of a bloke on the internet , thanks. If he’s the player they think we need, the price is of no interest to me if those running the club are comfortable with it.Because he is not worth this money and this is not an excellent business in my eyes to pay 50M£ for a back-up midfielder who hasn't a lot of top-level experience ;)
But you can find a way better one for the same or lower price. It's like buying between Wolksvagen or Audi. It’s a supposed fee, no guarantee what the fee actually is. It’s not our money and we’ve got no shortage in cash after last summer and this winters sales. Chill.
Bennacer - 50m€ release clause
Laimer from Leipzig
Fabian Ruiz - 40-50m€, his contract with Napoli expires in 2023
Sangare from PSV Eindhoven
Thuram from Nice
We could find a lot of options. Paying 50M£ for IMO not a top player is ridiculous.
So it isn’t about whether he’s the right player , just your random valuation ?That's acceptable.
Aye, that was the joke.Guardiola has never played 4-4-2.
30M£ is acceptable for Phillips, I would never pay 50M£ for a player from a nearly relegated side who is not a top player :) Simple as that :)So it isn’t about whether he’s the right player , just your random valuation ?

Well the club wanted Grealish enough to pay what they paid. They will for any player. I don’t understand why I’m supposed to be factoring that into anything, it isn’t my problem. No, the club will go the distance if a player is someone they want, or are we really going to say that the club looked at Grealish and thought, That’s a 100M player? we can agree or disagree with the approach, and then make it a joke about “English tax” or how it’s always more expensive for us, and wonder why
Why, he's either a player we want or he isn’t, price is irrelevant. Or should we buy a player we don’t want because they are cheaper.30M£ is acceptable for Phillips, I would never pay 50M£ for a player from a nearly relegated side who is not a top player :) Simple as that :)
Yes, what a disaster it was to buy Rodri, a player who had never played in the PL, but not only that, was also playing for Simeone of all managers before. Whereas you can look at Benjamin Mendy who had played for Bielsa before. Not to mention a list of the current and past PL DMs who had never played in the league before.Buying the likes of Phillips and Cucurella make sense because they would come to the club league-hardened. Similarly, both would come with experience of playing in highly similar systems, so it would take far less time to acclimatize than if we were buying from other clubs or buying from 'abroad'.
He already has 19 England caps and one of the reasons Leeds were in such a perilous position is because he was out with a hamstring injury for a chunk of the season. Their results both before and after his injury are much better, suggesting that he was crucial to their stability. We bought Walker for around 50 million when he was 26 and that was 5 years ago, so it doesn't seem like a ridiculously inflated fee.30M£ is acceptable for Phillips, I would never pay 50M£ for a player from a nearly relegated side who is not a top player :) Simple as that :)
People get worked up because of posters like you who live to belittle people with your so called superior football knowledge. People are sat back playing football manager picking X over Y because the stats say so. No consideration if the player wants to go, wants to come to Manchester, want to play under Pep or in fact give two shits about Manchester City.I don’t know why people get so worked up about us questioning possible deals. We CAN question targets and prices quoted, it doesn’t mean we know more than the club, it means we also watch football and look at stats and look at the market. It’s not like the club has never signed duds or overpaid before
