Aston Villa (H) Post Match Thread

I haven't actually come across any highlights that have the game clock in the corner of the screen. Just wondering, what was the game time when Ilkay scored the third goal? Pretty sure that the time of day was 17:41.

Did Peter Drury commentate on a tv channel or on radio? Got a day off today and wanted to watch/listen to the last 20 mins rather than Morose Monotone Martin?

Watched the whole game several times now. Lots of great things after 75 mins, but the absolute game changer is KDB winning that ball to cross for gundog's winner. He had absolutely no right to win that ball and it was just absolute determination.
Gundogan is being given plaudits for the goal, and rightly so, but in my opinion, the real hero of that goal was Kev.

I had to take a days leave from work yesterday, (at very short notice!) I was that hungover. Thankfully my manager is a Spurs fan and "gets" it (he isn't smitten with anything Scouse either).
Today I have had a stress headache all day long.
I had my stress headache during the match. Perfectly fine afterwards.

I didn’t notice in the stadium on Sunday, but watching it back, it doesn’t look like KdB had a cat in hell's chance of reaching the ball before a Villa defender, but his speed across the ground is incredible, and there was only ever going to be one outcome once he gathered it.
The three Villa players all stepped to go for it but stopped to let each other go for the loose ball. De Bruyne probably because he was pressing flew in at top speed.
the rest is history haha

Just about coming down from the ecstasy of it all, im a 38 year old 'tough' man but fuck me I nearly went at the end of the game, to be there with my dad and 17 year old lad and experience it together was almost too much. I keep watching different videos from the day and seeing things I missed previously, what a daft football club we all love.

My old fella is 64 now and 2 of my closest City going mates around my age have lost their dads over the last couple of years so im one of the lucky ones that can still be there with him.

Having said that any more of them final day experiences them daft blue bastards put us through could finish me off!

In my opinion, Tyrone Mings should get the award for Citeh's assist of the year for that goal. Christ, he trapped the ball further than I can kick it!

I've had a bee in my bonnet ever since Sunday. As the games progressed we were treated to an increasingly common view from media sources which has continued ever since: a jittery, fragile Manchester City were struggling to win a match against lowly Aston Villa which would win the title because it was impossible that the best team in the world would not beat Wolves. I exclude Tyler and Neville from this attitude but it got on my nerves that Edgy Liverpool conceded in the second minute and only equalised after half an hour, when they could easily have been further behind. They never really looked like scoring again and City were 3-2 up before Salah scrambled home a second. As Tyler pointed out City were never off the top of the table. So, why do no media outlets report an afternoon where Liverpool never looked remotely like "getting the job done". Why is the media portrayal of Liverpool and its fans so unremittingly positive?!

Was it even our throw when we got the ball back and Pep appeals to restart in the lead up to the third goal?

Shades of the Sergio goal when I think we got a dubious throw decision!
I thought that at the time I must admit....but watch it back. Cancelo definitely heads the ball against the back of the Villa player - the ball changes direction by about 90 degs and flies out of play. Good decision from Oliver!

That last sentence needs bookmarking!

Ha ha.....I expected more of a backlash to be honest. Apart from the timewasting by their keeper I thought he was OK on Sunday tbf. And blowing up a minute early was a definite 'thumbs up' moment. But in the overall context of his 'previous' .....yes I take your point!
