So to cut along story short, is it true?

With the greatest of respect, City are playing at a completely different level to you. You see him as one of your best players and an England international. I see him as backup for other far superior players already at City, and someone who is very lucky to be in the England setup. You want more than £40m. I’m thinking I don’t want to us spend £40m on a backup. He is worth a lot more to you than he is to us.Phillips is a full England international, a homegrown player and our PPG halves when he’s out of the team. And you think he’s worth £35-40m which is the same as Oxlade-Chamberlain 5 years ago?
There was apparently a relegation clause in Phillips' contract and that is why City is negotiating; you probably will get more than £35-40 but not much more imo. As for Oxlade Chamberlain he was a peformer in a top 6 side before he moved to Liverpool;injuries has scuppered a promising career.Only further proves my point
Brighton got £50m for Ben White. Phillips has more England caps and is a more important player to us than White was for Brighton. There was apparently a relegation clause in Phillips' contract and that is why City is negotiating; you probably will get more than £35-40 but not much more imo. White was still a key defender for Brighton. Leeds just escaped relegation by the skin of your teeth and would of lost Kalvin Phillips foe £35m. Your team is in a lot stronger postion by staying up but not that much you can start demanding £60+mBrighton got £50m for Ben White. Yeah but we didn’t get relegated so we don’t have to sell.White was still a key defender for Brighton. Leeds just escaped relegation by the skin of your teeth and would of lost Kalvin Phillips foe £35m

We need communication from the clubWhy so long? What barricades have we to get through still?
We could be Philips lifeline.I’m always believing
This is how negotiating works, if city are interested we’ll want to bring the fee as low as possible whereas Leeds will want as much as they can.Phillips is a full England international, a homegrown player and our PPG halves when he’s out of the team. Why not? We’re demanding that price for Raphinha and if he goes there’s less need to sell.Your team is in a lot stronger postion by staying up but not that much you can start demanding £60+m

It’s no secret that Leeds were terrible whenever Phillips was injuredAnd he's over rated and over priced also. 25 and had a good half a season. Do you think you will get £60m for him?
Considering you've got two such exceptional players I wonder why you just escaped returning to the championship
The fee your demanding for Raphinha suggests 45-50 million will do it for Phillips if he tells the club he'd like to join City. But ultimately, the fee is irrelevant. Much like Grealish, Phillips is Leeds through and through. When he decides he wants to leave the club and tells the club that, they will respect that decision and ask him to get the asking price.
You have to look at these things from the players' POV. What is going to enhance his reputation - continuing to play for a relegation threatened club with an unproven manager or move to the Champions and play under the best coach on the planet. The answer is obvious.
Grealish, Haaland and Foden. Haircut FC.He does seem a pretty decent person off the pitch.....except for that bloody stupid haircut.
