Is it the "Lane Keep Assist" function (detects when your vehicle is unintentionally drifting out of your lane, and applies a corrective torque to the steering wheel)?

We don't do a great deal approx 800 a month, we previously had a kodiaq 1.5 petrol which only got us 30mpg, downsized at the right time, just before Xmas which got us a great deal on the car we were buying and motorpoint on ashton old road bought our car off us for 4k more than We buy any car offered.

I don't think the i3 (well not mine at least) comes with lane assist. My one has traffic jam assist which i've not actually used yet, apparently you can use it up to about 35mph and it will self drive as long as there's a car in front of you.

I had a read online, a lot of things are pointing to the tyres which are obviously the thinnest wheels i've ever seen on a car. According to someone on one of the i3 forums, the front and rear wheels are not the same size and if you have taken your car to a tyre place and got them all done it could be easy for them to not put them on the right way. Something to do with the one i have specifically (Range Extender) because it has a small petrol engine at the rear, the wheels are wider so the tyres are wider too. I know my car had the wheels taken off so they could be refurbished before i got the car, it was on stilts when i first saw it so i think this might be a fair assumption.

I still have my Kodiaq as well, the missus is using the i3 but mine is a 2ltr diesel with 190bhp and i usually get around 40-45mpg depending on where im going and how i'm driving. The reason i haven't swapped it is i work from home so i don't use it loads, but i'd like to keep it for when we have long drives.

I remember when run flats 1st came out on the BM's - they had a habit of following the slightest tracks on the motorway especially. That came as a bit of a surprise 1st time it happened!

Maybe whip yours round to your local BMW dealership mate - ask them to take a quick look for you? Either that or one of the tyre specialists?
 
I can see this garnering some support - there are already applications in vehicles in use, means you don't have to roll out a costly charging infrastructure, won't put pressure on the existing generation capacity and can be delivered at already existing forecourts with some adaptations there
