And for a whopping £13 per month all they get in return is BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, Radio 1 Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 5, BBC Sounds which includes a huge archive drama, comedy and documentaries stretching back decades, BBC Iplayer which includes a huge archive drama, comedy and documentaries stretching back decades and all the content on the BBC website.

That's not to mention the regional BBC services, the specific broadcasting for Wales, Scotland and NI, the Welsh, Scots and Irish language broadcasts and the BBC World Service.

The good thing here is there's something for everyone so even if pensioners don't like BBC3 or 1extra maybe their grandkids will and its all affordable because we all make the same moderate contribution.

Post Savile the BBC has implemented a large range of safeguarding, and whistleblowing policies for staff who wish to raise concerns and, in conjunction with the NSPCC, have dedicated child protection officers, so it's worry that you seem think that all 22,000 members of staff are protecting paedophiles-perhaps you could elaborate on your concerns so we can alert the proper authorities?

Now, of course, there are some people who use the historic cases of abuse and the relatively small cost of the licence fee to attack the BBC when really they are angry that it isn't simply a right-wing echo chamber for senile racists and, for balance, there are people on the left that are convinced that it's simply an extension of the right wing Tory establishment. It's worth bearing in mind as you wouldn't want to be perceived as one of those moronic nut-jobs.
So they have turtled up on the pedo front...still a deceptive one sided shit sandwhich of an org. The sooner its privatized the better.

Apologies if it's already been covered but, given where he is coming from, has @jimharri stated what kind of 'ritual cleansing' he is demanding Phillips undergoes before he is allowed admittance into the fold?

Some interesting titbits tonight on Kalvin.

He only ever had eyes for City. He turned down bigger wages from two other premier league clubs. He also gave up on a massive loyalty bonus to sign for us.

City used all this to keep the fee low, strong arming Leeds into accepting, saying we had other potentials and would move on.

Philips got back from Kenya today and will say his goodbyes tomorrow. He also gets his new agent tomorrow who will get a whacking fee out of the move and his old agent is spitting feathers over it.

It’s another good example of how much our power has increased in the transfer market. Bayern and Madrid used to be a like this, turning the player’s head and then playing hardball. Well done cIty.
