Disappointed, but I think we can all agree he was a luxury to have and turning down 50mil is very hard to pass up.

Would love to get a decent cheaper replacement with experience and is okay being the 4th man.

Not closing on Cucurella now would be harsh.

Its an issue for sure. Especially in World Cup year!! No one wants their game time to be limited and miss out. Could walker be the 4th centre back if needed and we keep Zinc along with the Brighton left back which gives us more bodies at least….
 
For short term Mee would be decent. Or stick to the 3 centre backs with Mbete and a few players in the squad who can cover in a emergency.
 
Wouldn't mind someone young. No idea if the lad from Everton is any good but that kind of profile of someone who will be a similar age to Stones when we signed him, won't expect to play every week but with a load of potential and still with a bit of senior experience.

No fucking idea basically but will be interested to see who we go for.

Both youngsters who were linked with us the past month or so, from Everton and from Leicester (i think) have been laughed off by Everton fans. They say he's totally shit.

Have a feeling it will be the latter. Certainly a risk but if they can stay fit, it's more than enough quality to get us through and re-evaluate next summer. With fat pockets as well.

Branthwaite would be good but is still very useful to Everton

On the other hand I think Guehi is. He has high- pass completion is young and can be developed. Thoughts?
