Yes I don’t think Cucurella will go mental just because he misses out on his move, I’m sure he will be fine.

I think we will get him but, if we don’t, then you keep him and we buy someone else.

No drama.
Yep, and next time a prospect gets approached by Bloom & Brighton they will think twice as saw Cucurella get denied his dream move even for a decent fee.

There is always that. Depends how much we offer. If we went with say £35 M nobody would blame them for saying no.

Conversely we would probably get Raum for that.

We aren’t daft though, I’d like to think, we will know full well it’s going to need best part of £50mil to get him so if we are offering significantly less then more fool us.

why the fuck should we help a bunch of cloggers. hope you go down. signing Marc should help with that .

Brighton are hardly cloggers, have you watched them play? Potter is a good shout to step into Pep's shoes whenever he decides to leave.

We will want this sorted out quickly, as would you. If there has been a bid in the last few hours/ day then we will give you an answer quickly, but if it doesn't meet our evaluation (or very close) i don't think we would give you a hint what our valuation is. If you walk away then until Cucurella starts to play up (there really isn't any sign of that) we will be happy.

What is interesting is that although Cucurella has stated that he couldn't turn you lot down, that doesn't mean he would be unhappy to stay Brighton like a lot of people on here seem to think. He is our player, we see him every day, and we are the only club in the country to have a full time mental health and wellbeing department. We are therefore well equipped to keep an eye on his happines.

Interesting on the mental health and wellbeing department, although I know some people in football who work in "player care" which sounds very similar, so maybe it's a labelling thing.

From Bloom's statements and Cucurella's statement and the value leaks/speculation I think there's clearly going to be a mutually agreeable figure. I reckon £50m.

Potter is not in the same zip code as Pep.it’s an insult to the bald genius.

You seem to forget that fullbacks have a natural top value, it’s not like a striker. Bloom will know that we aren’t going to pay anything other than circa £50mil so if he’s setting his stall out asking for more then at end of day no one is ever going to pay it and he runs risk of player not being happy and maybe he has a bad season and can’t sell him for that in future.

We haven't had a left sided left back for a long time. Delph, Zinchenko and Cancelo have been our options. It's not stopped us winning things. Cucurella would be an excellent addition, and it would be nice to have a left footer on that side and enables us to rotate more at full back. But £50m even in this market is crazy money for someone with no experience at the top level. I would imagine we'd be happy paying that overall, but with an initial sum of £35-40m and then add-ons.

I know the Brighton fans think their owner is something special, they would do. But this is football not poker. They have a player we would like. They will name their price and we'll either pay it or move on, like with every transfer. Cucurella will move on at some point, you can tell he's probably a level above Brighton - depending what their strategy is as a club.

Haha wtf are they gonna do - hypnotise him into not wanting to move to City?

I think there is an element of truth in what you say. I doubt Cucurella would be unprofessional if the move didn’t happen.

I‘m 54 and I think I’m finally over Perry Digweed being the only sticker missing from my Panini football album. You are forgiven.

No reason for him to - if he doesn’t go now (still think it’s simply down to whether you meet our valuation and terms, whatever they are), most likely that we’ll give him an improved contract anyway and he‘ll know that the move will come soon enough if he continues to impress.
